India’s Quiet Counter-China Strategy

India should invite all the like minded ASEAN countries apart from Aussies and Americans to join the Naval exercise. We don't need to care about somebody being pissed off..

So if you want Chinese govt to listen to your request, you need some bargaining-chip to allow it to sit to the negotiating table. And trade relationship is the most effective bargaining-chip. Now Chinese govt is most concerned about trade.

India is unlikely to use trade as a bargaining chip because the interest of the elite trumps the interest of the state and a drop in trade means a drop in their income.

No one except Indian members in this forum will waste a thread on it.

China takes the long view. No need to fret on our behalf.

Thanks. :azn:

The bottom line is, even if India never existed, China and Pakistan would still be partners. China would still be trying to get Gwadar port, in order to bypass the Malacca straits. China would still need an important regional player, in the geopolitical nexus between the Middle East, Central Asia, and South Asia.

Just look at a map, cover India with your hand, and you will see what I mean.

I know all that. I somehow doubt that the nukes and missile transfers would still have happened in that case.

Frankly its a odd pairing, if you know what I mean. ;)

That he understands China and its motives. He runs some Chinese defense forums as well.

Please, let's not try to hide the obvious here. No one is a kid.

If he is all the balance you think you need from the "chinese" side, I can't say much to change your mind.

I think you're missing the fact that Pakistan can act as a strategic artery, giving us access to the Persian Gulf via Gwadar Port (and the KKH), as well as oil pipelines from the Middle East. Basically, a method to bypass the Malacca straits.

That is correct.

However did you read in this thread what the US is doing in Balochistan and Gwadar?

What's done is done, there is now zero chance India will try to wipe Pakistan off the map.

Sure we will. Do you think anybody will come asking ur permission? It is our interest and we will take care of it. You don't need to be pained by it.

Nothing is stopping you pal besides the fact that you don't run the Indian Navy.

:coffee: About anti-Chinese League, that only makes Chinese people more united, Chinese govt will not care about that.
Even Gaddafi know what the Chinese Govt wants.
