What's new

India refuses to provide dam water data to Pakistan

just be strong to take whats yours, no one gives anything to weaker ones.

may be a tit for tat as Pak always refuse to give data of anti india terrrorist hidding under its arms..

this is not about design of DAM and india blocking water.
the dam your are building, the water you are storing, though illegal, but still makes sense for you to do as it is something that is beneficial for you. But, this, not sharing information is a totally different story. It would have done NO HARM to india and would have helped Pakistan.
so in other words, India is doing this not because it is good for India but because it is bad for Pakistan.
this is the point, and if this is the reality, then why all the cry of TRYING TO MEND TIES with neighbors, ALWAYS GOING AN EXTRA MILE to befriend with Pakistan??

why such Hypocrisy?
This is the question!
:what:

oo baba gee... read the news!! it is not about India storing Pakistan water, not about violation of Indus Water Treaty, it is not that why are you storing our water!! if it was, then you reply of DONT WASTE makes sense,, this is about NOT SHARING information to prevent floods!! what the hell saving and not wasting water have to do with this?

Pakistan requested forcasted data about water flow from dams built on Ravi, Sutlej and Bias, but India declined this request. India has exclusive rights on ravi sutlej and Bias from IWT. Apart from that hasn't pakistan kept it's own records of water flow that it can build it's own predictions based on the monsoon expected from satellite imagery.

Ideally it would have been very nice gesture for India to provide the data, the question is has pakistan ever reciprocated gestures like these. there is a saying in Hindi "taali dono haatho se bajti hai", If pakistan would have shown goodwill towards India in issues spread out towards mutual sphere of influence, right from COIN, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Trade, MFN, Afghan Transit etc, there would be reciprocal gestures of flood warning systems, Drought predictions, development affordable medicines, etc , the list could be endless from India.

How is the Indian government supposed to trust you and show neighborly gestures, when;

some of the agencies (state and privately owned) keep spewing venom against India, actively support extremists against India

Intellectuals and business elites want to ensure trade routes being kept closed to India;

Religious elite actively encourage false jihads

Military unilaterally decides the foreign policy w.r.t India

If its not violating anything then why we have shortage of water coming into our rivers from India???.......:smokin:
Simple reasons:
1. Population explosion:Though water flowing through indus basin has remained same but the population has exploded many folds hence less per capita water availability. Its just simple maths.

2.Mismanagement by Pakistan govt on water storage and its proper management.

3.over use/stealing of water with in pakistan by high and mighty. There were even army stealing waters with in pakistan in pakistani papers.

4. global warming climate change.

As india start using its legal share of water under IWT on wester rivers there will be more reduced flow in future. For 60 years india doesn't had options to use its share so it was flowing unhindered to pakistan.but not anymore.

its good because the restaurant I am taking her to has no cook/waiter. she will have to cook, serve for me and herself and then we will do Mumbai Salsa. :kiss3:

pathani has fair complexsion like me thats why i said ..doenot mean im a girl ...im baloch not pathan

Guys you seem to be arguing without understanding the central points of the agreement.

The construction of Dam(s) is a violation of the IWT it'self.

India violating Indus Water treaty, says US report - Rediff.com India News

did you even read the article?

It is a Pak woman interpreting a senate report. The senate report states that many ROR dams will allow india to potentially control flow into pakistan and pakistan is scared shitless becos it can't do any thing about it, as it is not illegal to build ROR according to the treaty.

I'm sure you are smart enough to understand this.

So why this blatantly misleading post?

i agree with all your points mate, but is it not risky for us to give information on dam levels during different time line. because if war errupts in future the first ting PAKISTAN attack will be the dams, and if you know the low levels of the dam during a season it becomes convinent for you to minimiz flood on your side.
I am sure its not in the best Interest of INDIA to share this vital info which can be analysed and used against us.
besides your Water Works department should have taken the reading for the last 60 years about the flow of water, what was your PWD doing

India has refused to provide Pakistan data about the water level in its dams and expected rains ahead of the crucial monsoon season. According to a report, this spells grave danger for Pakistan in the wake of approaching monsoon season and resultant floods.

:what:

Oh you want monsoon forecast.

India's crucial monsoon rains are still expected to be average in 2012.

Monsoon rains in 2012 would be 96 percent of the long-term average overall, down from its April forecast of 99 percent.

A normal or average monsoon means rainfall between 96-104 percent of a 50-year average of 89 centimetres in total during the four-month season from June, according to India's weather office classification.

July rains this year are likely to be 98 percent of the long period average, while the rainfall in August is forecast to be 96 percent of the average.

Rains picked up from early lows last week, but concerns remain as the monsoon is still performing below average and the rains are behind schedule particularly in the grain bowl of the north-west.

Pass it to ur meteorological department IF u have any... and tell SpArK from PDF gave you and its accurate..

And regarding water in dam.. its half empty and half full.

Problemo Solved.

If you want water level, outflows and inflows on the the rivers of Beas and Sutlej you can visit BBMB Official page > Reports >Daily inflows, discharge and Generation. Here's it for the 15th of July :enjoy:

The dam built on Ravi is under Punjab State Power Corporation so not sure if they post these numbers on the Internet PSPCL

do u pakistanis who are crying for water here know that pakistan is a massive exploiter of water resources it has got. since independence pakistan has built 60 small dams and 3 large dams. in last 40 yrs not even a single large dam has been constructed. this is worse than even africa, pakistan is highly dependent on agriculture but fails to build even the basic dams in 65 yrs..pathetic is what i can say.

on the other hand india today has 6800 dams of small and medium size and other 150 very large dams. it is right now constructing 100s of medium and large dams for electricity and water storage on each and every river. by 2022 india will connect all these dams to form a national water grid, according to plan.

why should we give u water?? so u waste it?? sorry u wont get it. india has many poor who need that water before pakistanis.

here is one of the interview of top pakistanis officials, see what that say about pakistan. wake up pakistan or face the consequences.
