India is going to be divided

. . .
Defeating India is fairly easy if structure of Indian society is studied well. Many mughal generals, British generals did that. Unfortunately Pakistan with all its famed ISI did not appear to do so. Core of Indian fascism comes from a small group of brahmins and their allies. They usually take up top bureacrat positions, media star journalists, cultural icons etc. Note they dont always appear to support RSS some even pretend to be liberals. But most are wolves in sheep clothing. ISI went with its thousand cuts approach where the cuts were always applies to ordinary Indian soldiers or civilians. It never bought the heat to this coterie. Infact I alway felt pakistan went above and beyond to treat indian upper classes well like the recent pilot abhinandan. This policy of pakistan actually consolidate the grip over indian population by this elite. These classes never care about deaths of Indian solidiers or civilians but pakistan made it easy for them to blame their sufferings on muslims. Pakistan should really think through the strategy the enemy is not as strong as you may think.

Very good analysis.
#PA #ISI pay attention.
Also dont forget the treatment of Dalits and Sikhs

As an outsider, I highly doubt this is going to happen.

Socially divided maybe - but India has always had deep social divisions.

But not as a nation state.

Whether people like it or not, India is a large and powerful country (as well as nuclear power) in the region and the west see India as an ally against China.

There is little that can be done by neighbouring countries to push India one way - unless it is something major like declaring war... which would have its own set of problems.

India as nation state is far more fragile than it appears to be. Once you bring the heat to this small coterie - do you think they are going to wait for west to protect them ? they will compromise super quick and change sides very quickly. They always work to protect themselves and more than willing to throw nation to wolves. When British ruled 95 percent of administrative position in madras presidency were held by brahmins, when mughals ruled brahmins happily made peace with them. They are gleefully making these nazi like plans against Kashmir because they think they are protected by layers of security including pakistan's own fawning treatment of Indian upper classes. Once the protection is shown to be a myth they will happily talk and infact most will even abandon india.

Agreed. South Indians are the main bread winners but their money is used to support UP, MP and North states and these North Indians are such ingrates that they still call Southies names and abuse them. We all remember that during recent flood in Kerala, not only the federal govt misbehaved rather they throw jibes at them for example that flood came because they eat beef.

India has numerous social divisions. But with regards to Kashmir there is little other countries can do short of declaring war. Trying to destroy India through its social divisions is not something that will happen overnight in any case.... it would take years even decades or more. At the present time none of the posturing has had any effect on what has happened to Kashmir.

Indian Muslims may be a pro-Kashmiri pressure group but it doesn't appear as if Indian Muslims are a united group across India.

This is obviously an emotive issue for many people, but India holds all the cards right now. Rightly or wrongly Kashmir is regarded as Indian territory, and the world recognises a sovereign state can take steps it sees necessary to maintain security. This is not to justify India's actions.

Let's consider a far fetched scenario - invasion of Kashmir by a foreign force. It would be met with fierce resistance on the Indian side and would lead to the deaths of thousands of people in Kashmir. In this scenario I think no country would openly support another country invading India.

Unfortunately there was no out of the box thinking at the agency. While the Indian spooks took advantage of and fanned the fires of sectarian and religious hatred in Pakistan our intelligence took a very narrow minded route in dealing with India

You are right. South Indians are one of the most abandoned people in the world. Ridiculed by fellow north indians, manipulated by local brahmins that they are also hindus (when they arent - they have their own gods and very rich culture of their own), heavily bombarded by indian state propoganda, and a generally apathetic rest of world many are super confused and searching for identity. Some have accepted RSS version of events. But the cleavage is vast. Pakistan should work on messaging and how it reaches out to India. Few consistent repetitive messaging barely cost a thing to pakistan but does wonders in the long run. Moroever it is also the right thing. What I have found is pakistanis have abandoned any larger strategic approach to India - just focus on Kashmir and cut deals left right and center with India on everything else. Its mostly due to apathy and a general dismissive belief that all indians are just hindus and just club them together. In this interconnected world such voluntary ignorance is not good.

First of all I am not saying use social divisions to destroy India and grab kashmir - I am not presenting it as a plan. Social divisions may destroy India by themselves. But what I am saying is understand the social divisions first. And then reach out to those badly treated to them - keep channels to them. Thats all - nothing more. If done consistently it will bring results for the good of every one. Kashmir is a just cause - to strengthen Kashmir strengthen just causes throughout India - justice will deliver Kashmir far quicker than any politicking shenanigans.

And I never said this is the only way or do only that. Obviously the freedom fighter must go on with their struggle. Fires must be lit all over kashmir or anywhere else so Indian forces are forver running around to exintguish one fire then next -keep them burning. But also target well . Remember no matter how large systems are - decision are taken by few - with good intel proper persuasion can be delivered to them. A good motivation is needed. I think pakistan is up the task but they must take time to define it properly. This is a cunning enemy.
