Actually the fertility rate of PRC given in wikipedia (1.54) is wrong! the actual fertility rate according to 2000 national census is 1.22! the fertility rate of Shanghai is 0.7 and a district in heilongjiang province has the lowest birth rate in world - 0.4!

the first national census in 1950s says Han chinese accounted for 98% of the whole population, in 2000, it dropped to 92%. and 4 out every 10 new-born babies are non-han people.

By 2100, India, USA, Brazil, Indonesia, Pakistan will have more population than China. At that time, Eastern civilization will wither with no doubt.

I can't believe that the fertility rate in Northern China is even lower than in Shanghai.

I agree with you on the first part but I don't think confucius said that in those words. I think that quote originally had something to do with archery. As in when shooting an arrow, one must aim higher than the place one intends to hit.

Well what else do u expect.. if they start talking on the articles based on facts.. the thrashing will be coming in from the highlighted nation and their "brothers" on what not all things... So why bother convincing ..otherwise?

india need atleast 15-20 yrs with better political and economic decisions which we are not getting today.
u can take examples of scams with multibillion dollars...
so country cant grow perfectly in this scenario..
whereas if u take a look at few states in india who have done tremendrous development due to less corruption,u will know that it is possible to do this with better political and economic power...

According to a thesis submitted in 2005 to the Office of Graduate Studies of Texas A&M University, the lowest TFR recorded anywhere in the world in recorded history is for Xiangyang district of Jiamusi city (Heilongjiang, China) which had a TFR of 0.41

From the smallest semiconductor transistor to the largest ships, there is nothing manufactured in India superior to that manufactured in China. Even their saris are better off manufactured in China. Can anyone please tell me why the country India can't get passed China.

I mean if we are looking at growth we would also need to look at the form of governance both countries have.

India has a democratic form of governance where a decision cannot be made by the government alone. For instance if a building is to be erected, it would need approval from various govt agencies and most importantly from the community which resides there. This would mean slower decision making process and therefore delayed outcome. But the end result is decided after all parties agree.

China follows a form of socialistic governance where decisions are made and imposed at the top level. If we take the above instance itself the construction of building will start immediately following the decision taken by the authorities. Whether there are any conflicting views with regards to the decision taken at the higher level is of no paramount importance to anyone.Here the decision taken is fast and implemented without second thoughts. China has seen an unprecedented growth only and only because of its one track policies.

I am not condemning either methods of governance. Its just a way to approach the end result. One takes a longer time than the other.

So whether Indians can move ahead from China would depend how fast they can bring their policies to implementation.

Buddy don't u know since i have been here our poverty rate is like a graph

sometimes 99.99% when we are to be thrashed

sometimes 60% when the basher wants to give some kind of lecture to us.

sometimes 50% to 70% inbetween when to show the work ahead for us.

You will also find people so sick that they post pictures of people who have died and say that they died of hunger or whatever.

Just look at the sadistic pleasure derived out of this bashing. I have reported that particular person but i don't think he was banned.

Now the same gentleman is lecturing us Indians on how Arunachal is not a part of India by starting a thread.
