Total cost of ph 1 is around 15 b usd.

The 1st part costing 4.5 b usd is till meerut -
Cuts travel time from Delhi to meerut from 3- 4 hrs , to 1 hour .
85 km route.
Maximum speed- 160 kmph. Our metros have a maximum speed of 90 kmph.
Bombardier India will manufacture the 210 carriages for part 1.
Bombardier has a excellent track record in India.

Costs are a issue , since total comes to 33000 crores.
Which is 390 cr per km. Pretty expensive.

Its a new concept in inter city travel for India. Lets see how it emerges.
