This area is crazy at present. There is a new shiny business district under construction right next to a beautiful brand new international airport ; with western suburbs housing media industry a little ahead on other side. And the area in between and around them is all slums, chawls and pathetic old local train stations with absolutely chaotic and filthy station area. Someone should fast rebuild the railway stations in 5 km radius around airport. The slum lands can also be redeveloped, considering the land price must be high. If that could be done, image of Mumbai and India in eyes of any visitor who lands at Mumbai airport will suddenly change. It's not impossible job, and should be economically viable.

Thanks for the updates all. Re: copyright, it's embedded in the material and a quick left click on the pic. leads to the source. Nice to acknowledge separately too. All good.
  • Politically, now's the time for Gadkari clean up from where things went left-field.

NCR planning board approves moves to expand area's borders in bid to reduce stress on existing infrastructure: Mail Online India,

The National Capital Region (NCR) just got bigger. Eager to reduce the strain on Delhi's infrastructure, as more and more people seek jobs in the Capital, the NCR Planning Board on Monday approved the extension of the area's boundary to also include Mahendragarh and Bhiwani in Haryana, and Bharatpur in Rajasthan.

"The NCR must grow to reduce pressure on the infrastructure in Delhi," Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath said.

"He added that the board will soon also take up proposals pertaining to the inclusion of Jind and Karnal districts in Haryana.
"Echoing a similar view as Nath, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit emphasised on the need for NCR cities to come up with more facilities, such as better equipped government hospitals and educational institutes, for the people living there.

"Delhi is the hub of advanced medical treatment, and has to bear a heavy burden on account of patients from neighbouring states. To ease pressure, hospitals located in the NCR region should be upgraded in capacity and quality of services," she added.

With boundaries of the NCR expanding to areas at quite a distance, there are plans in the works to build an expansive transport network to connect them with the National Capital Territory.

On Monday, the NCRPB approved the construction of three rapid rail corridors that isthe Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) – on the 111-km Delhi- Panipat route, 180-km long Delhi- Alwar and 90-km Delhi-Meerut.

The areas of Kashmere Gate and Anand Vihar have been proposed as locations for multimodal transit centres.

Transport department officials said the total cost of building the network would come to around Rs 72,000 crore, and is likely to be commissioned in 2016. The government has decided to appoint a financial consultant to suggest the agreement for sharing of investment between the stakeholders.

Indian stock market smashed records on Modi's win.

CLSA, Morgan-Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Standard & Poor's are forecasting a mega boom.
Obama's lifted Modi's US visa ban. Global media is following political cues from conservative run UK, Germany, Oz., Canada and Russia's leaders to root for Modi. and France too.
  • Pssst ... punters are betting on the stock market going 1-2-ka-4.
Doubling in 2 yrs. flat out. Then tripling in 3-5 yrs. and quadrupling by 2020 :woot: !

15markets1.jpg

The stock market reflects the future in advance. Global funds are vested in India.
The real economy will catch up to the stock market with a lag time of 3-5 yrs.Boom times for Global fund managers with India, Germany and Oz the only bright spots. Germ & Oz are saturated and simply cannot absorb the quantum of mega capital available today. Modi is friends with mega money China, Japan and Korea and I can't think of 1 country that will shy from making money from India's spurt to developed country status under Modi, not even Bangladesh, Sri Lanka. Gulf or even Pakistan. The finance business is a world unto itself.

The sweetest deal is that as India leaps into the league of developed countries, it's piddling enemies are diving Bakkie (interesting choice of word n'est pas, just think what it rhymes with in slang; for eg. in arabic a certain largest province is called Bunjab, or country called Bakistan) into the dark age. Nothing's holding India back. Further, the nuclearisation of the 'hood made peace an imperative. China, Russia, Isreal, Pakistan, Iran and India are jigsaw locked into a peace break-out. Conversely, it's mutually assured destruction (MAD'ness).

Future's bright.

Hey, I read somewhere they're thinking 1/2 dozen maglev lines criss-crossing Delhi NCR for the Regional Rail Transport System; end-to-end in 15 min. flat.

If an inept, socialist Congress could come up with Gurgaon-Faridabad-Gaziabad-Verybad plus Noida-Gr.-Noida-Noida Ext. with private super expressways, bridges, metro systems even Formula 1 race track in 20 yrs. from ground up; just imagine what Modi can pull off. Tata, Birla, JayPee and cosntruction conglomerate buddies L&T, Ahuja, Simplex, Afcons along with German, Japan or China funding agencies jump-up-and-down at stuff like this.
