How do Bangladeshis view 1965 war?

If East Pakistan in 1965 was so vulnerable, then why did not India attacked and take advantage of that situation?
East Pakistan was adequately protected relevant to Indian forces deployments and expected threats. In 1965, India was in no way capable to fight on 2 fronts separated by 1000 miles nor was Pakistan.

@ In those days Z A Bhutto was a very powerful Minister. Though he was a Foreign Minister but he a good link in Defense Ministry also. Since he was very close to china so Ayub needed him badly.

@ He used to maintain a good liaison with the young General with the Pakistan army. He had a very a intimacy with Maj General Gul Hassan. Other General used to maintain good relation to have close liaison with Field Marshal Ayub.

@ So, in mid 1965 Bhutto convinced the Defense Ministry that India had to fight a bloody war with China where she was miserably defeated. Bhutto said, " now is the right time to foment rebellion in Kashmir and finally attack India ". The whole Western World is on our side.

@ The nationalistic feeling among the Pakistani was at the high stage. The economy was booming. Defense of Pakistan was comparatively good.She had lot of friends in Middle East, in Europe and finally with China & America.

@@ But the assessment made by Bhutto and Pakistan Defense Ministry was completely wrong. Pakistan did not realize that after Sino-Indo War of 1962, America has alienated from Pakistan side in order to contain China and slowly tilted towards India though not openly. So far I know at that time Pakistan Had only 5 Division soldier on Western Front. After the war, the economy of Pakistan collapse, political unrest started in both the wings. Defense of East Pakistan was purely at India's mercy ?

Hell yeah chutiyappa has no limits because The british kept us out of the army not because we weren't marshal but because we played a crucial role in 1857 sepoy mutiny but pakis always thought us as weaklings and despite being the majority of the population (59%) we were the minority of armed forces (only15%).

The sepoys(or mercenaries I must say) recruited by East Indian Company were mostly west-bengal hindus, and Biharis. They mostly recruited from the hindu brahmin caste. Muslim bengalis are said to have mostly converted from aboriginal, previously "shudra" tribes, which makes them non-martial automatically in British dictionary.

It's always a folly to underestimate one's enemy.

Good thing is all out wars b/w India-Pak is a thing of past.
