LUCK brings trouble on Mughals?

Its said that East India Company got its major breakthrough when the princess Jahan Ara got critically burned.

"In November 1644, sister of Aurangzeb, Jahan Ara, who was the eldest and best-loved daughter of the Emperor Shah Jahan, got a terrible burn."

An English Surgeon Mr Boughton treated her and the king was so happy that he demanded the Doctor to make just any wish and the Doctor request DUTY FREE and TAX FREE business for East India Company. Thus the EIC was able to get major advantage over other European companies like that of Portugese, Dutch or French East India Company.

Its reported that doctor was given gold equal to his weight.

"The emperor also regularly invoked tuladana, where a favoured subject was presented with their weight in gold. A doctor curing his daughter Jahanara of burn injuries received this, as did numerous poets and artists"

The question to discuss is that was it a pure luck for East India Company and what other concessions the company got after this event.

The purpose of starting this thread is to discuss various events related to Indo-Pak history and EIC is the centerpiece of this history. The questions like why the Mughals did not keep a Navy? Why Sultan Tipu failed in his effort to build a Navy? Did Sultan Tipu used military deception in warfare against East India Company? and many others in the same thread.........
