What i dont understand why waste tax payer money if LCA IS ALREADY CANCELLED FOR NAVY..
Were those built before or after all these parts were bought for foreign corporations?Many in PDF has flawed understanding of LCA project ...
whole new eco system of various feeder aero private industries has been built and at same time offset clauses are adding more tech.
LCA is on a much more robust path than JF-17...
We don't want to, keep it to yourselves.Navy doesn't want any single engine fighters for its carriers so it will be merely a test bed or technology demonstrator for the development of twin engine fighters.

If you want a navy LCA its fine just built it from scratch PER NAVY REQUIREMENTSBecoz this is the rozgar of our dpsu's.
These r a chain of huge public sector undertakings,,mediocrisy,nepotism,kamchori,warts n all. LCA is just a manjan which provided them 30+yrs of chai biskut.
Look nobody sane expects dpsu's to deliver on any of thr promised goods.
LCA failed,token orders of mk1 r the proof of tht.
They tried salvaging by putting some lipstick(mk1a,sport,lca navy etc.)
Despite what ppl r saying there r no orders of mk1a till now.
So now to save face Mk2 is being propped up,the new manjan ,which is altogether a different aircraft.,,,just like old days, dpsu has promised the sky,,design,develop,test n inducted in a decade.
Just like tejas was touted as world class,best in class n what not even before it got inducted,,Mk2 will also get laurels of being world class even before it flies.
At best mk2 gets ready yo be inducted by early next decade,,n will again get token orders.
Why lca navy is being tested,,apparently dpsu's r validating "niche" technologies,,,,whatever that means(i think they r doing it,just to show off.
Why the disconnect,,well navy doesnt want a short legged single engine fighter to begin with. They agreed on going with NLCA just to support an indigenous effort n it makes thm look gud.If you want a navy LCA its fine just built it from scratch PER NAVY REQUIREMENTS

It makes no sense
Than build a twin engine for navy...how long will it take 10 years may be 15..but isnt the navy LCA going on for good 10 years now ..why waste further time..Bte
Why the disconnect,,well navy doesnt want a short legged single engine fighter to begin with. They agreed on going with NLCA just to support an indigenous effort n it makes thm look gud.
Defence imports fill pockets of many including politicians,middlemen,bureaucrats n defence personnel.its colaborated effort to undermine indigenous MIC.
On top of tht our MIC itself is mediocre at best,,,50% of the workforce is thr becoz of reservation(quota). Majority of the engineers r from tier 3 colleges or worse. The work culture is similar to all other public sector undertakings,which is pathetic.
Most important reason being,,our dpsu dominant MIC promises big but delivers puny products after never ending delays.
Its no wonder tht everybody is reluctant to purchase thr low quality products,,,if n when they come up wid somthng actually comparable with rival products,,they get gud orders,,case in point akash sam.
Edit- A clean sheet design is being considered for navy,,,dpsu will complete it in 2decades(hopefully).
Ps- its all ok basically,,,for a country like India,,this is perhaps the best way.corruption isnt going anywhere n our MIC isnt going to transform overnight.(perhaps after a century)
Look India(Pakistan too for that matter)despite the regular big talk,is not going to fight any wars,,,so it makes sense to keep the indigenisation effort going,,,,while buying the necessary.
