This is a movement cutting across all lines in this country now. For every Christian lamenting the death of Congress, there's another to point it out. For every Muslim willing to behead Hindus, there are Muslim police officers going the extra mile to book the culprits, for every Hindu shooting their mouth, there is another to shut him up. Time will tell where we end up, but it is a silent mass movement - one that has caught pace due to growing literacy in the interior(reaching 80% now). This will continue.

Ok, lets say that it is true.. that all Indians are from India. Then by that inference... many Indians are of the Indus Valley civillization.. and hence they are NOT Hindus at all but of the IVC religion. And before the whole origin of the Vedas.. there were other beliefs(unless there is some clause in Hinduism like Christianity that the earth is only 10000 or 100000 years old).. and so all who claim to be Hindus actually Belong to those religions...

The point which I am trying to make to all those high on nationalism and sentimental search for identity is; RELIGION matters as much in your identity within India as does your preference to eat from the left or right hand. The common ground is the land and the intertwined cultures... not your worshipping of a plastic surgery elephant head man, an unseen god.. or a man on a cross. These will only have negative influences on attempting to unite Indians.

Why this fixation on 'RELIGION'? The concept is quite alien to us EVEN TODAY! We worship all that we see and revere in nature - from the Sun to the Moon, from the Mother to wealth. There was no 'before the Vedas'. This is not the Koran or the Bible that you have a fixed timeframe. The concept of Shruti does not come with a timeline or a 'Printed Date'. It is evolutionary Paganism. Simple.
