Far from it, many hindus here laugh at the brainwashed idiocy now running rampant in India.

yes there is brainwashed idiocy like those claiming cow urine to cure cancer.... but truth is india isn't fully secular... our constitution did not give uniform civil code... neither any political party in india is actually secular...vote bank is what matters..you cant blame BJP as communal only... all are... i hardly saw any party calling a spade a spade...most of them ignores crimes committed by minorities...media reportings are very poor too.. they tend to sensationalise many stupid comments or incidents and are all biased (to different parties).. india is still secular coz majority of hindus (sizable number of muslims too) are so....no one gives a shit about hindutva agenda ..even modi won election without speaking a single word on hindutva..... we are a progressive society though illiterates holds us back....

Very very few do. Every passing day, Indians are getting more united. It's easy to see on the ground. Hence the noise. It's a time of internal shifting. A silent democratic revolution if you may say. So much so that this was spotted -

Why this fixation on 'RELIGION'? The concept is quite alien to us EVEN TODAY! We worship all that we see and revere in nature - from the Sun to the Moon, from the Mother to wealth. There was no 'before the Vedas'. This is not the Koran or the Bible that you have a fixed timeframe. The concept of Shruti does not come with a timeline or a 'Printed Date'. It is evolutionary Paganism. Simple.


The word Hindu is a bad one. Sanatan Dharma rings better. Paganism is fine as well. 'Hindu' is a term others coined for us. Not by us, for us, of us.

They may or may not, but it is there... just as any form of extremism is there. Modi has nothing to do with Hindutva and yet everything to do with it. His indifference to it is only fuelling this small extremist minority in becoming more and more confident in what they can pull off in lieu of "saving Hinduism".

Ok, lets say that it is true.. that all Indians are from India. Then by that inference... many Indians are of the Indus Valley civillization.. and hence they are NOT Hindus at all but of the IVC religion. And before the whole origin of the Vedas.. there were other beliefs(unless there is some clause in Hinduism like Christianity that the earth is only 10000 or 100000 years old).. and so all who claim to be Hindus actually Belong to those religions...

The point which I am trying to make to all those high on nationalism and sentimental search for identity is; RELIGION matters as much in your identity within India as does your preference to eat from the left or right hand. The common ground is the land and the intertwined cultures... not your worshipping of a plastic surgery elephant head man, an unseen god.. or a man on a cross. These will only have negative influences on attempting to unite Indians.
