Has Pak. been sidelined by the Indo-Afgh. Strategic Agreement?

It certainly wasn't us, we were wary of him, because of his links with india, he went to university their, and was mistrusted by Islamabad, I think the Pentagon and "W" are to blame on that score.

So HK's connections within Pakistan had no role? Much longer than his university education was his stay in Pakistan, specially Quetta.

Yes, but he was not our preferred choice, we had misgivings about his "smoking" - and that has proved correct has it not, Mr Cheng.

So you admit that India succeeded in gaining the upper hand by placing their chosen people in with Americans from the beginning? If so, why would that change now? It only serves to indicate that Pakistan has been badly out-maneuvered for a long time now to its strategic detriment.

HK is not india's man - it's the NA people who are the power behing HK who are pro-india, HK is not presidential material - period - the tragedy is if there were strong institutions in Afghan - his bumbling buffoonery could have not hurt his country as much, but after 10 years of war, hundreds of billions of dollars spent, thousands dead and maimed, A-Stan is not a whole lot better than when the Tabs were in charge, a damning indictment of the international presence is it not, Mr Cheng?

Not at all. The ISAF has met most of its immediate goals so far.

Ridentem dicere verum quid vetat

Non of the lofty objectives - at the start of the war have been met, the south is a no - go area for Karzai and his cronies.

I think any person with a working mind would realize that the US & the NATO Forces have failed to meet their post 2001 objectives in Afghanistan.

I was referring to ISAF, not Karzai.

Merda taurorum animas conturbit. :P

Is OBL dead? Is AQ effectively dismantled?

ISAF, NATO progress Non Gradus Anus Rodentum! ;)

Is OBL dead? Is AQ effectively dismantled?

The objectives were not to let extremists back into power (government) that would threaten the region. Which they are effectively doing by giving over the reins to the Taliban & their affiliates in Afghanistan's end game.

OBL dead? Check!
AQ destroyed? Check!

The "mouse" roared pretty loudly in Abbottabad, did it not? :D

Glad OBL the Sob is dead, but was that not the perfect moment, to declare victory and GTFO. ;)

The end game is a ways still.

India recognizes the long term advantage it is going to be handed in Afghanistan, and will take every step to materialize it. Pakistan is already on the back foot.

Well, it laid the perfect foundation to hand over a few lasting aces to India, and then watch the water come to a boil slowly before the frog realizes it! :D
