@Last Samuri,

Composites is not a requisite for advanced structural design, which mostly has to do with shape rather than materials. F-20 Tigershark, an early 1980s fighter, has no composites yet is by far the lightest of the light fighter category, with an empty weight of only 13,150 pounds, and is significantly faster and more agile than both JF-17 and Tejas. JF-17 is extremely advanced structurally, being the first operational fighter in the world to feature DSI. Granted, weight wise, JF-17 is heavier than Tejas, but is nevertheless considerably lighter than Gripen A/C.

Ok give me the following specs with proof.. Flying hours of the airframe.. Stress level supported in higher altitudes and lower altitudes in supersonic speed.. what is the maximum stress it can take without being getting fatigue ... how many joints present and how many man hours long does it take to assemble the entire air frame from the base to the full aircraft

Give me the following specs ... we will tell you it is advanced airframe or not

F-20 is capable of over Mach 2, making it the fastest in the light fighter category. For a 1982 fighter, F-20 is an excellent fighter with a thrust to weight ratio of 1.1. How much composites does Tejas use?

A capable does not mean it is a good airframe... Even Mig-25 makes faster mach than this.. but it does not posses the best airframe.. you need to give me the requested information as you have been telling continuously its the best.. We need some stats to accept the fact that it is best.. dont you do the same?

So you trying to tell us the jf17 has a advanced modern shape and design.its looks dated to me.modern for Me are the euro canards and j10.

I'm not trying to tell. I'm stating a fact. How much composites does Tejas have? Considering Tejas was developed in the 1990s when India had very little knowledge of composite materials.

Dsi means nothing it does nothing accept airflow. You cant track or shoot a fighter with dsi.

There is no dsi on typhoon rafale f16 tejas. Because its nothing important. If the best feature of thunder is s dsi inlet god help you people.

Come back with something that matters please..

Missle approach warning or maws is again basic stuff come on thunder fanboys come again

Hi there dim troll... MAWS on JF-17:

Superboy.

The last thing JF17 is a structurally advanced.

Either you have IGNORED what everyone is telling you or you dont want to listen.

JF17 structurally is very obselete. its 3rd generation ie F7 MIG21 J8 MIRAGE 5 technology

In other words it has no unstable fcs and nil composites in its airframe.

To save both time and money and too keep cost down JF17 have invested their efforts on BVR and weapons ability with a improved russian engine but kept traditional all metal alloy airframe and a stable FCS with partial; FBW capability.

in short during instant dogfighting agility the thunder turns like a car where as the typhoon rafale gripen and lca tejas turn like a motorbike.

Your PAF doctrine for PAF is bvr ability and stand off weapons capability for thunder role with a very low cost so they have large nos.

Even block 2 is stable fcs you are relyinmg on improved ew suites radars and weapons to make the diffrrence.

LCA TEJAS.

This took longer to develope and costs $26m in block 1 but its airframe and fcs system are one generation ahead of thunder and even the mirage2000 in the iaf.

What tejas needs is bigger more powerful engine and bigger weapons load.

Tejas cockpit and radar a ew suites are superb with heavey israeli assistance to the indians.

I would also pont out that thunder is more mature more ready and carrys bigger range of weapons for now.

I wonder where you get this shit from?

JF-17 is as agile as an F-16 ... yes no "unstable" design limitation... and one of the best dog fighter ever,,,

Lmao...ever heard of stuff like quadruplex..................?

Lmao.. 3.5 th gen, obsolete ? another brain fart...

Composite?block I :

Ever heard of KG300G>?

KLJ7V2 (A Pak-China development) ... yes better than the old KLJ7 ...... AESA,WS-13,serious upgrades,blocks comin your way:

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 5] | Page 176

..

LCA is an awesome drawing board jet... with a radar range of 40-45 km among other awesome features..

JF-17 has quadruplex digital FBW. I don't think Gripen or F-16 has this kind of FBW which is the most advanced in its kind. What FBW does Tejas have? Question is, if Tejas uses 45% of composites by weight, why is it so heavy for its size?

It uses so many composites yet the weight ratio..????????????:D

Oh look, it's superboy again with his dumb assertions. I'm starting to believe the other posters when they call you a four year old. All F-16's has a quadruplex FBW. Oh and by the way quadruplex fly-by-wire is like 30 years old, just because the JF-17 has it doesn't make it "the most advanced of its kind." Let me know when another nation implements an IFCS like we did on the F-15 ACTIVE, then maybe i'd all be impressed.

And lastly why is it that the Pakistani members here are peddling the JF-17 and its technologies like they're the ones that designed and implemented it? Last I checked, you guys can't even build helicopters.... how about trying to master that one first?

Ever heard of WZ-10, which has mast mounted AESA radar that's leagues ahead of Longbow Apache's mechanically scanning radar?

Z-19 fitted with Longbow-style radar breaks cover - IHS Jane's 360

No F-15 has digital FBW, so it's not like quadruplex digital FBW is low technology.

JF-17 is a joint project between China and Pakistan. It is thereby also a Pakistani plane.

Lets see...

Designed by Russian's
Engines by Lockheed
Engine-parts from Canada.

yea great job designing an indigenous helicopter.. Can't even do that yourselves LOL.

Don't care, read what I wrote carefully. All F-16's have quadruplex FBW systems (you said they don't). And secondly I said it's a 30 year old capability which almost every fighter jet now a days has (including the Tejas apparently), so don't try and pass it off like it's some god-sent achievement that the Chinese have built. So again let me know when you guys can develop something like the F-15 ACTIVE had (called IFCS).

JF-17 is a joint project between China and Pakistan. It is thereby also a Pakistani plane.

Does that mean the Indians can claim the Su-30MKI as their own even through the Russians designed and developed it but it's being manufactured in India?
