HAL Hands Over Tejas Jets To IAF

Yeah sure why not but in your dreams. Learn from the history man...delays delays delays..that's tejas project summed up for you.
says a pakistanis who is yet to make a decent fighter on its own .................says about delays

and what summed up you are talking about ...................first SP is handed over to IAF .......and ramp-up production will chuck out 16 tejas/year ..................unlike some who still can't make more then ~7/year ...while dreaming of bk 2 for at least 5 years .....still no see

Keep guessing..
there is nothing to guess ................. that why question was thrown towards DSI boy

Delayed only if you go by the orginal arbritary timeline set that did not forsee sanctions nor fully account for the mountain India had to climb.

Mid 90s-2015 (when it will enter operational service) is around 20 years- very respectable for a first attempt. The F-22, Rafale and EFT all have longer porject dates. The LCA is an incredibly capable bird in its own right.

Do you have any idea why f-22 and Rafale were delayed? The technologies went into these two projects were the prime reason not to mention budget overruns.
Now, which revolutionary technology does LCA incorporate? Israeli radar? American engine? Or Samtel avionics? Or Derby missile?

Capable yes. Relevant to the IAF's new threat dynamic? Questionable.
Far from questonable IMHO sir. The LCA will take over the MiG-21's air-defence roles and can act as a capabe "rear guard" allowing the "heavy hitters" (MKI, Rafale and FGFA) take part in offensive action into enemy territory.

Replacing the MiG-21 with MKIs (as is happening with some MiG-21 SQDs) is a huge step foreward in terms of capabilties however it is also a huge under-utilisation of resources and ultimately a drain on the IAF's budget. For air-policing of India's skies, point defence and rear-guard tasks the LCA is ideal.

What maintenance need invariable intakes?

JF-17 is basically a MiG-21 airframe with added LERX. Tejas is unstable tailess + it has much larger use of composites.

Yes .. both have wings and fly:

Basically you need to STFU?

Apparently those are 4.5th and 5th gen fighters .. meanwhile LCA is a 4th gen fighter in the works since the 80s.

Can you elaborate plz? may be IAF does not need Tejas per threat profile but still a light fighter like Tejas has huge operational role.

it would still be handy for threat profile from Western border and support to army

Its a 7th gen fighter.. capable of travelling to other planets in reverse gear.

Typical ignorant... No answer so start ranting and trolling. Nowhere have I brought another aircraft in the discussion. Read carefully.

Only if u insist...
You would see blk 2 pics in this very forum, and Tue internal jammer is on the vertical tail same place as gripen and Rafale and j-10b.

Chinese and SA are good options.. :D
Nice "options" indeed but, to date, nothing has come of these "options".

The LCA project was hampered by similar issues. Yes the technologies India devloped for the LCA were not exactly "cutting edge" BUT they were beyond the capabilties of the Indian industry up to that point. The LCA project has lead to many ground breaking capabilties to be developed in India, the Kaveri is a case in point- it lead to untold delays of the LCA project as a whole and was a hugely ambitious project for India, whilst ultimately it failed to achieve its orginal goal of powering the LCA it has lead to many trickle down effects for India's industry and other powerplant projects.

Let's not even mention the fact the LCA Mk.1 is superior in pretty much every way to the JF-17 blk.1 and 2 - HMDS, ECM,Radar, BVR missiles, IFR probe, higher composite material content, OBOGS etc etc

The LCA Mk.2 will put the JF-17 to shame on pretty much every leve
l.

How exactly?

Not at all true.

The ONLY reason Pakistan is not using French parts is because France refuses to sell them not because the Chinese parts are on par with French parts.

Explain this if that were true:

France & Pakistan to revive JF-17 Avionics/EW/Missiles deal as Indian MMRCA stalls.

IFR will only appear on the 29th JF-17 Blk.2, the first LCA MK.1 will have IFR. And what about OBOGS? HMDS? The LCA Mk.1 comes with this but the JF-17 Blk.2 still to this day doesn't.

The LCA Mk.1 does everything the Blk.2 JF-17 can do- the same is not true the other way around.

The LCA Mk.2 (that will be churned out at a rate of 16/year whilst the JF-17 production line is yet to cross 8/year) will have a new generation ECM suite and an AESA radar guarenteed whilst this is all just speculation for the Blk.3 JF-17.

And yet it is the LCA that is labelled the "failure"?

Hilarious. :coffee:
Block 2 JF-17 makes first flight ahead of Block 3 improvements

The first Block 2 JF-17 Thunder combat aircraft made its maiden flight from the Pakistan Aeronautical Company (PAC) facility at Kamra on 9 February.

The aircraft (serial number 2P01) made three more successful flights before being taken to the paint shop in mid-February. The test flights came as a boost as PAC continues to look for a first export customer for its platform.

Air Commodore Ahsan Rafiq, Deputy Chief Project Director (Operations) JF-17 and a former commanding officer of the JF-17 Test and Evaluation Unit, described the Block 2 version as "an upgraded Block 1 with an air-to-air refuelling (AAR) probe, enhanced oxygen system [to allow the pilot to stay in the air longer], and improved electronic countermeasures system (ECS)".

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has a contract for 50 Block 2 JF-17s but as Air Cdre Ahsan pointed out, "the full AAR system will not appear until the 29th jet, which should fly later this year [at Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) in China]."

In a further development that sends a clear signal that PAC and Chinese marketing partner CATIC intend business in the international arena, the Block 2 JF-17 will also have a two-seater version, which is now being developed at Chengdu according to the PAF's requirements.

"We know potential customers would like to see a two-seater, although it is not such a big deal for the PAF, which started flying several types, [A-5, F-6, F-7P and F-7PG] without a training version," Air Cdre Ahsan said. "This will give us the chance to show potential suitors how the jet can perform in the air."

What are you trying to prove/say bro?

Nice "options" indeed but, to date, nothing has come of these "options".
.

Comparing a jet in service since years with one yet to be inducted (with all its flaws) is nothing but fantasy.. but hey who is stopping you? :D
