Goodbye GPS! India Desi Navigation System IRNSS Is Revolutionary

What is a big deal is a Rs. 1,420 Crores floating in space with No practical use in sight.

The main user (of the high precision and restricted signals) will be the Indian military....just like the US military is for the GPS.

If gaining that accuracy for the Indian military is not "practical" for you....then that is your opinion.

I said that till date NO ONE has made IRNSS receivers. Which means it will never be used till someone first builds it and mass produce it and sell it

IRNSS precision receivers will only be made available for the Indian military.

New civilian receiver models may be augmented to receive the unrestricted signals from the IRNSS constellation...on top of what they already receive from GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO etc... but that is up to the manufacturers (to add the relevant modules to the multiplexer + S-band antenna). It was never the objective of the IRNSS to be civilian focused.....that was always just a secondary result of the primary requirement (military need for secure, high precision satellite positioning system especially in time of war). It is the choice of the civilian manufacturers whether IRNSS offers them any extra redundancy in addition to the existing constellations.

Why would any commercial entity do that when its far more cheaper to buy a GPS device ?

Hope this has been answered now. You seem to be truly confused about what IRNSS main objective was.

Even DRDO has not build a receivers which can be used by missiles. Indian Navy has not built receivers which can be used by the Naval ships and Submarines. Nada for IA or IAF.

And you know this how? You think they will be broadcasting development of the military receivers when the constellation is only going to be finished in March 2016?

Do you understand the meaning of the world "practical" ?

It means to ACTUALLY PRACTICE USING IT.

As of now there is No receiver available so it is NOT BEING USED and it is unlikely to be used till a receiver is made available.

What are you ? Caption Obvious ?

What part of "THERE ARE NO IRNSS RECEIVERS AVAILABLE" do you not understand ? In this real world there is no receivers being built or tested so far.

Irrespective of what the "IRNSS main objective" was, As of today, it is a White Elephant which is NOT being USED by ANYBODY.

DO you understand this Simple English ?

No amount of Spin is going to change reality just because you do not want to accept it.

I could always tell you that I work closely with ISRO and have first have knowledge of it. That I have supplied equipment and have built devices that uses ISRO Satellites. But those could be lies.

However posting copy pasting links that explain IRNSS without providing any details about its Receives only goes to prove my Point.

Not ONE of your link talks about IRNSS Receivers. :cheesy:

Are you a self appointed referee of trolling of PDF ??:sarcastic::sarcastic:

on every thread you are waiting for trolls :what:

i don't know today you people are little slow to troll in Indian section.. that's what made me write them... I wonder why?? you people are like Flash come within seconds to troll..

@mshahid i found a partial reason.. one of a big troll @PatriotLover is bannedhttps://defence.pk/members/patriotlover.169026/

its not like that if someone is banned so other will stop :fie:

I don't even know what's that...
have fun:enjoy:

So a car half way through the production line is a white elephant because its not being used by anyone?

Of course they are lies. You have already proven your idiocy many times.

You have built things being used in INS Arihant and now ISRO....yet you call IRNSS a white elephant when its not even completed.

This was your exact quote:

By the time we design a receive and make it production quality and sell it the life of the satellite would have expired

a) "We" making it and selling receivers (as though thats the main purpose of IRNSS)
b) "Satellite would have expired as though India is so technologically illiterate it cannot develop a simple L/S-band antenna receiver, mutiplexer and associated hardware. Idiot like you probably wants an article on daily bhaskar or something so you can then quote it and show pictures without checking if the basics even make sense....and then deflect by saying something you "designed" is being used there and therefore you are some authority.

I mean when ISRO has already released the Interface control document for 3rd party set manufacturers (which you can look up yourself) and have done significant algorithm analysis:

http://www.insidegnss.com/auto/IGM_janfeb11-IRNSS.pdf

and we have people as far away as Finland picking up the signals

Tracking IRNSS Satellites | Inside GNSS

and 3rd party signal analysis already been done:

The System: IRNSS Signal Close up : GPS World

you still want Indian military to release direct information regarding their RS architectural design or some brochure?

Thats like saying INS Arihant was a big white elephant before the first pictures were released.

.
Congratulations. But for this to be available to a common man U first have to map the streets, roads, highways etc. I dont suppose it has been done yet.Or is it?

. .
G3oM by Accord Software & System has ability to recieve signals from GPS, GLONASS and GAGAN so adding IRNSS isn't a difficult deal... It may already be integrated into the G3oM... IG3oM....? ;)

Does it have a S-band capable antenna? This will be the main hardware requirement given the dual signal broadcast (one in L band, one in S band). After that it will just need the relevant multiplexer upgrade + software change.

A Satellite is not a car. It is VERY expensive equipment, with a very expensive launch vehicle and a very limited LIFE.

It's life expectancy is only 9 years. So the clock is ticking.

The receiver should have been ready and operational the moment IRNSS became operational. THAT is how its done. The design should already have been ready, tested and ready for demonstration.

Of course they are lies. You have already proven your idiocy many times.

You have built things being used in INS Arihant and now ISRO....yet you call IRNSS a white elephant when its not even completed.

Maybe they are. Maybe the thing being used in Arihant is also linked to ISRO.

This was your exact quote:

b) "Satellite would have expired as though India is so technologically illiterate it cannot develop a simple L/S-band antenna receiver, mutiplexer and associated hardware. LOL...what are you trying to prove here ?

That it is my contention that job of the IRNSS is to build and sell receivers ?

I build RF equipments and integrate RF into systems for a living. I have forgotten more about satellite communication that you can possibly know. I know for a certainty that IRNSS receiver has not yet be built or tested.by any of its users.

Do you even know how long it take to design, build, test, demonstrate, qualify, certify and then integrate a device into an operational matrix ?? You are a kid with google who thinks he knows something because he read some brochures.

But here and now my claim is not based on personal knowledge. SHOW me any IRNSS receiver in existence TODAY. Show me any article that talks of its existent. If you CANT then learn to shut up and Listen. Maybe you can learn something that way.

I mean when ISRO has already released the Interface control document for 3rd party set manufacturers (which you can look up yourself) and have done significant algorithm analysis:

That's like saying INS Arihant was a big white elephant before the first pictures were released.

Anybody an build a receiver based on the specifications you fool. The Reality is NOBODY is doing that.

That is the difference between a Theoretical solution and a PRACTICAL solution .

Even ISRO has done a signal analysis. That is not the same as an commercial receiver being built. There is no "algorithm analysis" There is signal strength, and receiver sensitivity there is signal polarization and noise interference and then there is accuracy.

A Lab equipment and signal processor is not even close to a real life practical receiver that is ready to be integrated into any system.

An interface document is the bare minimum release. What does that prove ? Absolutely Nothing  Only that an interface exist.
