German paper publishes, "in error", an anti-Semitic cartoon - apologizes!

.
Freedom of speech does not mean that every publication be even handed at all times. Every place has its own editorial policy. If somebody disagrees, let them create their own publication and they have the freedom to do so. That is freedom of speech.
Lanat on this so called freedom of speech

. .
yeah thats exactly the point?

you say the killers were muslims, but i don't understand why you label their religion here? why their ethnicity, their nationality also don't get discussed?
Because the motivation behind this attack was religion! If ethnicity or nationality was the reason behind the attack, the world wouldnt have reacted in such manner.
jews do kill in the name of god, so how are you so sure that attacking judaism wont invite attack from the jews?
Killing in the name of god is one thing and an organized military taking inspiration from their belief is another thing.

You seem to have had a change of heart from your usual stance on these kinds of issues or am I just misreading you?
No, its not a change of heart. I still consider myself a Muslim-Zionist. I just hate double-standards and hypocritic nature of human beings. I am completely for mocking and insulting Muslims as long same was allowed for Jews or other religious groups. The very fact that publishing anti-semitic cartoons, illustrations and images is punished in several european countries, while there is no such ban regarding anti-muslim material is a clear indication of hypocrisy!

If the cartoon was indeed a Charlie Hebdo cover, the German newspaper would have run it without any apology. I mean it was obviously a cartoon mocking jews.
Nah, anti-semitic cartoons are generally not published here. (Its very sensitive issue) In 2006, Iran arranged a competition where cartoons mocking Jews and holocaust were published. How Western media treated this event goes as follows:
On February 8, Flemming Rose (the cultural editor for Jyllands-Posten), told CNN: "My newspaper is trying to establish a contact with that Iranian newspaper Hamshahri, and we would run the cartoons the same day as they publish them". Later that day, the paper's editor-in-chief said that Jyllands-posten would under no circumstances publish the Holocaust cartoons.

Six of the least controversial cartoons of the International Holocaust Cartoon Competition were republished by Danish Newspaper Dagbladet Information on September 8, 2006 after the editor consulted the main rabbi in Copenhagen, and three cartoons were later reprinted in Jyllands-Posten as well.

Did Charlie Hebdo consult any Muslim Imam before publishing those insultive cartoons? I think not!

Let's not lose sight of the bigger picture, here. Something was published, the mocked group complained, the publisher apologized.
I have yet to see any apology from Charlie Hebdo regarding anti-Muslim cartoons it published. Mindless attacks and killings by Islamic terrorists are of course barbaric acts and should be condemned, but where is the condemnation of insultive cartoons from the same mainstream media?

@Norwegian Hmmm after some time you're back? Your news regarding NA 122 was correct more than 30,000 votes in which counterfoils without signature and stamp were found
Thanks. I just arrived home yesterday. I will follow on that later in another section :)

what shall be noted is that whether apologies or not, the cartoonists are not in danger of losing their lives because of that Jewish cartoon.
Well, they are in clear danger of losing their jobs for insulting Jews :D

1) Berliner Zeitung is not Charlie Hebdo, they have different editorial standards. It's not helpful to conflate the two, which seems to be confusing many of the less educated readers here.

2) Find me a Charlie Hebdo apology towards the Christians and Jews it insulted, and I will find you a Charlie Hebdo apology towards the Muslims. Deal?

I don't understand this reaction to Charlie Hebdo. Charlie Hebdo is a troll, just a troll that prints magazines instead of posting anonymously on internet forums. We always say that the best response to a troll is to ignore the troll (and most did--they had a regular run of a paltry tens of thousands), but it seems that it's easier said than done for some people. Now Charlie Hebdo has more exposure than ever.

I am sorry if I offended you. I doesn’t mean to. Respect your views. except my apology sir

There is no need for an apology because the right to express oneself is sacrosanct in my view. I practice what I preach.

Charlie Hebdo's circulation increased from 60,000 to several million copies after those barbaric killings. Extremist Muslims aka. Islamic terrorists are only defacing Islam. Other muslims must eliminate them first if they want to preserve their religion's dignity.

Let's not lose sight of the bigger picture, here. Something was published, the mocked group complained, the publisher apologized. Please don't tell me that you see that as equivalent to: something was published, the mocked group slaughters the publishers, and then goes on to slaughter an entirely different and unrelated group to the publication.

I hope you, of all people, can see the difference. I expect far less of most of the other PDF denizens, but I hold you to a higher standard.
If Muslims complained about something they found offensive and then the publisher apologized. What would be the response? It would go something like this

· The Muslims are taking over Europe

· The Muslims are restricting our freedom of expression

· The Muslims are trying to ban christmas and don’t like Santa clause :D

· They kidnapped my dog

· They took my parking spot which they are encouraged to do by their religion as it’s a minor form of jehad. :o:

· The Muslims treat animals bad by their use of helal method of slaughter (which consists of beating theanimal and then cutting each limb while alive) and at the same time stuffing their fat mouths with factory farm meat.(We all know they sincerely care about animal rights)

We need to emboss secular mindset in muslims. Look at Uzbekistan Turkey etc. Why they don't have any Islamist insurgency? We need to take a page from UAE and Malaysia, both for development and building a tolerant society.

If they would have come with religious motivation, then you can call them even crusaders. But they came under the flag of US/NATO...hence they are called as armies.
