General Kayani: Pakistan Armed Forces always stand by Azerbaijan

:offtopic:

y is that pakistan is always the nation supporting other....and when tide turns ,no one there to support pakistan like now when pakistan is going thru crises.....:undecided:

i think pakistan is habituated of what we call "doosro ke padey mein thang aadi aur thodwai "
has pakistan not learn anything from past

.
driven by a common hate..... against Pakistan.
This is stupid.no one hates Pakistan.we can't blame Pakistan for having relations with Azerbaijan.it's not even Iran's enemy,we just have some little problems that can be solved easily.
But we also expect you guys not to ask us to cut our relations with India, the same way we don't ask you to cut you relations with Saudi Arabia or U.S.Interests come first.Pakistan can be friends with anyone in its interest, and it's neither Iran nor anyone's business.

.
I think COAS wouldn't give such statements because changing of world politics. We support Azerbaijan because of Nagorno and didn't recognize Armenia (Which is utter nonsense), we called them terrorists, very interesting that we have excellent relations with Turkey responsible of massacre of innocent people of Armenia. At this moment Pakistan shouldn't give negative statements in support of Azerbaijan or Turkey as well. Time to start balancing stand over them.

.
Hi-

Will Our CAOS be kind enough to stand by the Pakistanis?- the Pakistanis which amrikan drones are wasting like grabage-

.
All are bloody whabis, Please tell us more of their evil!

it was just a joke bhai.

Azeris, Turks and Chechens aren't wahhabis -- though in Chechna there is some wahhabi-esque activity and influence.

Azeris actually are mostly mainstream Shiia Muslims (12er)

i cant think of a time Pakistan ever asked you to cut commercial relations with indian...

it's the Americans pressuring indian to cut trade relations with you.....

all the countries of the region (Iran and Pakistan especially) should be boosting trade and cooperating on matters that benefit us both.

.
That's because you guys pretend that actually you have very strong relation with Iran but you are also being too good with her enemies! that's kinda irony!

same can be said about iran, but if one looks at the bigger picture pakistan and iran are on a better path compared to what was there before.

well I think it's important to take a principled stance......as for the issues -- well i doubt 99% of Pakistanis even know about the Ngorno-Karabakh issue.

it's complicated....almost like Kashmir issue.

but i think there's a lot more hatred between Azeris and Armenians

I didn't mean Pakistan has asked such thing,of course not.I'm talking about regular Pakistani people here on this forum.

Other than being a muslim country, is there any logical narrative behind Pakistani-Azeri relations?

Azerbaijan regained its independence and sovereignty in 1991 (following the end of the USSR).

Azeris are staunch anti-communists and they know Pakistan's rather pro-active role to help deliver one of the last and final blows to the USSR.

culturally -- even though Azeris tend to be more secular than Pakistanis -- there are some Turanian/Persian influence in both countries; Azeri language is basically like Turkish. Turkish and Urdu share well over 5,000 common words in the vocabulary.

we have common political interests and see eye to eye on certain strategic issues......our relations with Turkey also help bind us together.

we have common defence-related interests as well

found this interesting as well:

When questioned on Azeri cooperation to Central Asian countries for supply of oil and gas to energy-starved Pakistan and other countries of South Asia, he said at present Baku is concentrating on its western side for supply of oil to European nations. But a stage can come when Baku will join mega projects with other Central Asian countries to supply oil and gas to eastern side.

Referring to social and economic progress of Azerbaijan , the Minister said, since 1993 National Leader of Azerbaijan, the late-President, Heydar Aliyev was elected as the President of Azerbaijan, the country has started to march on the path of progress with the help of its oil income.

A three-pronged strategy has been devised to convert “black gold to human gold,” a statement announced by H.E. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which includes creating a conducive atmosphere, training of manpower in IT and other technologies and import of high tech. Pakistan can help Baku in this regard, he said By the time when oil reserves will start depleting, his country will be able to generate much of its income from high-tech sector.

He said in the old days, people of his country and Pakistan were linked with each other through Silk Route . Caravans from both regions used this route extensively for trading purpose. A corner of Azeri culture has been established in Look Versa in Islamabad and Azeri students are studying in Pakistan . Pakistani student are also taking education in Azeri institutions. These bonds will be further strengthened, he added.

Pak-Azerbaijan relations galvanized with historic and cultural bonds

if you are in Tehran, I hope one day you come to visit Pakistan....our door is open to guests, especially Iranian brothers/sisters

.
Thanks for trolling. If you have not heard that Pakistan regime is being blamed to help Iran build nukes in late 90's and you talking opposite to facts!

It was not the Pakistani Regime but one man's network, AQ Khan.

Or are you saying it was Pakistani government's policy to send nuclear technology to Libya, North Korea and Iran?

.
What kind of trolling is this? Pakistan wants relation ship with Iran? For what? Come into real world buddy.
Pakistan wants relationship with every country including Afghanistan, if Saudi Arab hates Iran this won't make Pakistan hate Iran or not have relations with Iran & if Iran hates Saudi Arab doesn't means Pakistan will follow them.

Exactly.
These 'zero sum' strategic scenarios propagated by bloggers are naive. If they were valid then Indians would be kicked out en-mass from the Middle East because of the strong Israel-India relations, to be replaced by non Indians like Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Filipinos, Indonesians...

On a related note, Pakistan DOES manage to pull in the OIC members to vote in a certain way when there are no deep conflicts between the OIC members' position. Pakistan probably played an instrumental role to block the anti-Sri Lanka vote in the UNGA some months ago--a block of 55+ countries carries a powerful symbolic message.

That's because you guys pretend that actually you have very strong relation with Iran but you are also being too good with her enemies! that's kinda irony!
Both Saudi Arabia and Iran are like our brothers. If they have some dispute between themselves, thatdoes not affect our relationship with any of them. Rather thann taking sides we would try to have them solve their dispute in an amicable brotherly manner.

General Kayani: Pakistan Armed Forces always stand by Azerbaijan

MilAz.info

Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov met with Army Chief of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. The embassy told APA that cooperation between Azerbaijani and Pakistani armed forces was discussed at the meeting. Shikarov handed Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel-General Safar Abiyev’s letter inviting Parvez Ashfaq Kayani to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in 2013.

General Kayani expressed his gratitude for the invitation of the Azerbaijani Defense Minister. He said that he accepts the invitation with great pleasure and will visit Azerbaijan soon. He underlined that his country unambiguously supports Azerbaijan in the Nagorno Karabakh problem and has not established diplomatic relations with Armenia because of its aggressive policy. Furthermore, he said that Pakistan does not recognize Armenia as a state. He said Islamabad’s support for Azerbaijan will continue until the occupied territories are liberated.

General Kayani spoke about Pakistan’s defence industry, saying that there is a great potential for bilateral cooperation in this sphere. He said the Pakistan Armed Forces, one of the most powerful armies of the world, will always stand by Azerbaijan.

Terminal X: General Kayani: Pakistan Armed Forces always stand by Azerbaijan

I retract my previous statement about this development, and I will refrain from commenting on it anywhere ever again. I made a mistake by posting this opinion, I went a bit too far with the flame-extuinguisher postings that I make about "peace not war". The fact is, the world needs a little tension and co-operation between humans in different countries. I realize that now, and won't be making the same mistake again, I hope (barring severe telepathic pressures on my head).

I have no comments on the national or foreign policy of Pakistan at this moment.
This may change at any time, but next time I will think twice before indicating which direction the national or foreign policy of Pakistan (or India, China, Russia for that matter) should proceed in.

I still am of the opinion humans had better spend their energy on agriculture and farming, rather than making war against other humans.

But your logic has won this round, General Kayani..

.
Pakistan is good with Saudi and now stands with Azer bhai jan what about Iran? :undecided:

Saudi Arabia and Azerbayian are Best Friends with Israel.

Also I dont understand why Pakistani love Saudi Arabia's government, they've only made pakistan a hot spot for terrorism. If Saudi Arabia wahabism never came to Pakistan you would NOT HAVE so many issues with terrorism , and civil unreast. Seriously pakistan would've been the strongest Islamic country in the region.
