When questioned on Azeri cooperation to Central Asian countries for supply of oil and gas to energy-starved Pakistan and other countries of South Asia, he said at present Baku is concentrating on its western side for supply of oil to European nations. But a stage can come when Baku will join mega projects with other Central Asian countries to supply oil and gas to eastern side.
Referring to social and economic progress of Azerbaijan , the Minister said, since 1993 National Leader of Azerbaijan, the late-President, Heydar Aliyev was elected as the President of Azerbaijan, the country has started to march on the path of progress with the help of its oil income.

He said in the old days, people of his country and Pakistan were linked with each other through Silk Route . Caravans from both regions used this route extensively for trading purpose. A corner of Azeri culture has been established in Look Versa in Islamabad and Azeri students are studying in Pakistan . Pakistani student are also taking education in Azeri institutions. These bonds will be further strengthened, he added.
