This doesn't only happen at the top, alot of superseded officers even at lower ranks (Major's /Lt Col's) also opt for earlier retirement, rather than serving under junior officers.

This is also one of the reason's Gen Ishfaq & Gen Ramday didn't retire.

Surprisingly people aren't really talking about Gen.Ramday as much as Gen.A.Nadeem.

Gen Ramday is quite an exceptional person.

If both are performing well then they should not resign, Gen. Bajwa knows well.

All of u need to understand that the simple reason why no one is taking his retirement early is for the fact that ALL OFFICERS CONCERNED R FROM 63RD PMA.ie they r all coursemates....in other words gen bajwa who himself is from 63RD PMA is not supperceding any one....so why should any one call it a day earlier than he's suppose to.
