Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

.
Sisi is a liar and is deceitful. Egyptian people stand up against him. He wants the fall of the Palestinian resistance and is calling for them to disarm. To become the like the West Bank.
It’s part of the broader strategy with all western partners in the region as explained by the former centcom commander.

The "ultimate sacrifice" would devastate Gaza and the people living there. How can we expect a tiny militia in a blockaded open air prison to fight a prolonged war with Israel which is receiving constant arms shipments and funds from the world's superpower (and other global powers)?

It is not my call to make.
However, if rumors are true that Hamas has about 4 months of supplies then that's a long bloody economically devastating war on Israel's economy.
I also think the White House has starting to tell Israel to scale down its 'achievable'. Israeli desire for vengeance is not based in rationality and runs against America's larger interests. This is not the America of 1991. It has its limits in resources and is culturally different from that era--I know so, I have been here all those years and me and my WASP neighbor often discuss the cultural shifts here. Appetite for wars and dead bodies is far, far less and trust in the govt. is even lesser. Short of a big False Flag, there is no appetite for wars--not even for anything more than a few bombs dropped from the air, here and there. An American President eventually has to be aware of the public sentiments.

PS. We don't know what MBS and Erdogan and the Ayatollah have agreed between them and between them and the Americans.

There is so much real imagery why would they need to fake it? Even if it is fake it is showing the human face of the suffering Palestinians.
Real images are enough, bro. No side should be allowed to exploit Palestinian issue with AI fakes. This is not helpful in my opinion. China wants to fight for Palestinians? Come and fight for it instead of resorting to AI fakes. Some parties want to fight Israel to the last Muslim. Not funny.

Greece examining the possibility of a humanitarian aid corridor from the sea, foreign ministry sources say

Greece is looking into the possibility of a sea corridor to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza, diplomatic sources said on Sunday.
"Greece, which from the first moment stressed the need to avoid a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, is exploring the possibility of setting up a humanitarian sea corridor to transport basic essential goods to the region," the sources said.
"For this plan, which is operationally complex - and to which the French president, Emmanuel Macron, referred on Friday - the Greek government is in talks with the parties directly involved, as well as with its European partners and international organisations," the sources added.

Meaning we won't see any further intervention from them. As they are setting up a ceremony for their fighters killed over the past two weeks and it's planned a week from now. Cleary they are on de-escalation path.

Israel is asking US forces to deploy in Gaza. This is insane. Region must stop it now.

CNN, citing two sources: American rapid reaction forces moving towards the eastern Mediterranean

Biden is too senile to understand the significance of his actions or the damage his is causing to long term strategic USA interests ... this will hurt the USA and cost them in the long run for sure.

Perfectly valid point. But you should also consider that Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Saudi Arabia etc., are not known for producing anything besides oil and gas. OK, I have seen some Egyptian cotton sheets may be. I have eaten some Baba Ghanoush made in Lebanon.
So what, not being industrialised because of a confluence of factors means it is 5% more acceptable that they are occupied? A lot of these countries are victims of colonialism, endemic local corruption, artificial state building by the colonial powers etc. In my view, it is essentially pure chance that the West became industrialised and fuelled the Great Divergence via their leveraging that advantage using colonialism. Every empire has its day. 1000 years ago Europe was the backwater of the world and Persia / Muslims dominated culture, arts, literature and economics. Today it is reversed. In another 1000 years time who knows.
