Real the link I shared for complete details or refer to Post # 18 for summary.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa offers establishment of 18 hydel stations to Federal Govt.

KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak Saturday said that they have offered the establishment of eighteen (18) hydel power stations to federal government, saying implementation of comprehensive plan for generating of cheap electricity has been initiated by the provincial government.

Under the plan, he said separate power stations would be established for industrial and domestic consumers and due to which the power demand of far-flung areas would be met at local level. He was talking to a delegation of Insaf Youth Wing here in CM Secretariat on Saturday. Those present on the occasion were included Advisor to CM on Economic Affairs, Rafaqatullah Babar, MPA Zarin Zia and provincial general secretary PTI, Khalid Masood.

The chief minister said that due to consecutive load shedding and growing power tariff they had decided the shifting of all schools on solar energy in future, which besides, provision of cheap electricity will also save inflated power bills and our little children will get uninterrupted power supply and all people will be got rid of the shedding and exploitation of the WAPDA employees. He said that the Department of Communications and Works (C&W) has been directed to instead of depositing security to the tone of millions of rupees and then waiting for years for the power connection, they on completion of schemes should install solar panels with immediate effect to prevent delay in the commissioning of schools in waiting for connection and starting of classes in the schools.

The chief minister said that a comprehensive programme has also been prepared for bringing improvement in the standard of technical education in the province. He urged the youth take full benefits of the educational, developmental and economic activities of the provincial government and utilise their research oriented capabilities. The chief minister said that the provincial government would generate 400 MW cheap electricity from the additional gas reserves, which would cost of production would be Rs 9.00 per unit, which would be provided to industries and create employment opportunity in the province.

He said that they have estimated that about 700 to 800 industrial units would install from the same power. He said that new industrial units would be installed in Swat, Nowshera, Haripur, Gadoon and Kohat Industrial Estates and generate employment opportunity for 0.6 million persons.

Regarding the upcoming annual budget, the chief minister said that despite limited resources of the PTI led coalition would present a tax-free and people welfare oriented budget. He further said that the budget would be reflective of the expectations of the people. He said besides mega developmental plan, improvement in social services delivery system and raising the life standard of the people, several comprehensive schemes for provision of employment and imparting of skills to youth is being introduced in it.

The delegation informed the chief minister regarding their proposals and recommendations for abolition of unemployment and economic uplift of the youth of the province. The chief minister said beside improvement in education standard, full attention is also being concentrated on technical education. He said that youth are their asset and have full confidence in their capabilities. He said that youth would be practically included in sections of life to polish their hidden leadership capabilities.

The chief minister while appreciating self-employment recommendations and proposed youth employment plan said that they were expecting similar positive approach from their youth and assured that for its implementation the provincial government would be day-night efforts. He further assured that the provincial government is seriously considering the implementation of the PTI government drafted Youth Empowerment Plan, revival of youth assembly, holding of Youth Leadership Conference and the launching of Provincial Internship Program on the pattern of National Internship. He agreed with notion that the basic reason of the present unemployment was substandard education. Otherwise, he said highly educated or skilled persons have no employment related problem. In the line of the same fact, the chief minister said they are changing the whole system of education, which would result in attaining of the international standard of education and the value of our degrees would increase and our youth would be given priority in matters relating to employment and enrolment and they would not remain in need to search for employment. He said that PTI is first-ever government of the province which has started implementation of its manifesto in letter and spirit.

He said a donation collection campaign under Tameer-e-School Programme has been started for meeting the shortage of teachers, class-rooms and bathrooms and other facilities. The campaign, he said was launched by PTI chief Imran Khan and a donation of Rs 30 million was collected on the very first day and next day it was discussed with the industrialists of Lahore, who also donated Rs 30 million to complete the pilot project for meeting insufficient facilities in 120 schools of the province. However, he said that they beside 13000 additional rooms, boundary walls of 9000 schools and 8000 washrooms also facing the shortage of electricity and ceiling fans in schools. He said due to limited resources of the province they are improving the schools through donation campaign.

KPK is blessed with lots of river and natural water reservoirs, it has great potential for cheap hydel projects. KPK and Federal govt should work together to get maximum out of it.

Federal gov is already working on big projects in KPK, Dasu dam 4300mw for exemple. Or extention of Tarbella dam 2800mw. But these are huge projects, i though KPK government will make small dams from his own resources? If Federal is doing then PTI government can't take credit.

Its not really rival thing. Read today news of 260bn budget for next year for power projects. Big dams belong to federal no matter where they are. If Dasu is build in KPK or not only federal can be blamed or take credit and not KPK goverment. So ganjas are not doing any favor to anyone.

But they should be given credit for taking these projects seriously unlike last federal gov PPP.

@Aether Sir please check this thread by @Leader : Sasti Bijli a project by PTI volunteers for KP at their own !

Small hydel power plant that will cost less than 300000 Rs, and can provide electricity to upto 15 - 20 houses in remote areas of KPK using available natural water flow. This is the potential KPK has, which I was talking about yesterday.

PTI'ans ke jazbay pe to koi sawal hi nahi. Ye individual projects almost on private level chal rahay hain jo Pakistan ki khoobsoorti ka khula saboot hai. Government must encourage them as much as they can.

KPK ki electricity generation potential to itni hai ke itni kisi bhi province ki nahi. Almost 95% of the dams that are likely to built in future are located in KPK, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. KPK is the future of Hydropower Electricity/Cheap electricity for Pakistan.
