Those are service sectors that have nothing to do with production rather they have to do with the energy production. What percentage is industrial and agricultural production? Also whats your employment rate in saudi and why do you have that rate?

No, that is the overall economy. Read the title. "GCC countries need to diversify their economies". Which is a work in process. It does not change overnight but we are in a very good position. The non-oil/gas sector is growing at a rapid rate and is now the biggest sector of the economy. 60.000 Saudi Arabian students are studying at top universities in the US alone. More than anyone else outside of Indians, Chinese and South Koreans. More than anyone else per capita. Overall there are 200.000 Saudi Arabian students abroad across the world.

Industrial cities and higher learning centers are being built across GCC. Billions of dollars have been relocated for education and to create a knowledge-based economy and society. All work in progress. Could it have been done before? Yes. Is it necessarily here and now so much that our life's depend on it? Far from that.

So being blessed with natural riches is not always a blessing.

Anyway you should not compare KSA with Turkey but the GCC with Turkey. More fitting in terms of population.

KSA Economy News & Discussions

Just because you started your industrialization 1 decade earlier does not change anything in the wider picture. You also have much more favorable rules for foreign investment etc.

If KSA was not blessed with natural resources they would have taken the exact same roue as you.
First of all this has nothing to do with export, it shows the economic sectors.

And my source is Data | The World Bank

While yours are from GCC....

. .
So even if that was the case a country's various economic sectors are not contributing to the overall GDP and thus GDP per capita? Or what are you saying?
Its correct but this shows the capability of a countrys economy, the most advanced economys are highly complex while this is not the case for countrys who only became rich because of free money from the ground.

Look at your Graph even the overall economy is still highly dependent on Oil, what im saying is the richness of GCC isnt something you can be proud of the capability of Arabs, nor is it something you can bash my country with, this only works with uneducated idiots.

.
We are not more dependent than you are. Anyway the industrial revolution is not your work and you depended and still depend on Western technology as well and all you call indigenous is in reality Western technology. So you are in no position.

"Democratic". Then why do they not permit you to enter EU which you have begged for? Apparently not democratic enough it seems.

Anyway the differences are very small.

Do Turkish nationalists like you count in that group then?

At least we are not copying something that is not our own and claim it as our own. But that is nothing new.

Everyone knows the problem is not that the Turks are not democratic, the problems are two fold

-If Turkey is allowed in it would directly effect German leadership ambitions because its economy is also on the rise unlike the rest of the EU cept Germany which dominates European economic affairs.

-The fact that Turks are Muslims while the rest of Europe is not, God forbid a Muslim European nation gets a leadership role in Europe lol. Reminds them of Ottomans I guess.

Why are you making up false claims? Who said anything about being proud of having many natural resources or that this is an achievement? No other than you. You are making that up.

Yes, and had it not been for Western technology you would not be able to have any economic boom. Since all your economic foundations are based on Western technology.

No, not highly dependent. KSA can themselves chose which economic policies that they want to implement. One based on natural resources or the opposite. KSA and the other GCC states have enough of money to get nearly all they want. It just takes time. That's what we are doing. Who would have stopped us for focusing more on a knowledge-based society in the 1990's for instance. Nobody.

Anyway let me remind you of this before you, as earlier in the debate, started to talk about who would be better off without any natural resources. Read it carefully.

"This means that your compatriot is in no position to claim that region x or y outside of the Western world would be better had none of those non-Western regions been exposed to Western technology. There is no pretext for this. In fact the Arab Islamic Caliphates and Al-Andalus gave much more to the world than the Ottomans which did very little in terms of poetry, science etc. We are talking about hundreds of inventions and enormous contributions to science and other fields. Those were the learning centers of the old world at that period. Turkey never had a similar position or any Turkic civilization.

Hence why the Islamic Golden Age took place during the previous Caliphates. It was the zenith of Muslim rule culturally, economically, militarily etc. We did not need Turks for this. All this happened under Arab rule.

So he should avoid making such false comments."

It is very obvious that you needed turkish mercenaries to protect the persian scientists so that they could come up with inventions and development. Under the seljuks people like Omar Khayyam, and Ghazali made amazing advancements. also look at the new thread i opened up about some ottoman scientific developments.

Look up the various advances made by the following turkish dynasties in the middle east:

Tulunids - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ikhshidid dynasty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Appointed rulers of egypt by the abasids)
Rasulid dynasty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mamluk Sultanate (Cairo) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now he does, fact is no matter how democratic a Muslim country becomes they will never be accepted in the "first world". God was right when he said in the Quran that they will never be satisfied unless you forsake your religion lol.

No, because Turkey is not a fully democracy as many of them here claim. That's also the reason why Christian countries are not allowed in such as Serbia and others.

@T-123456
Go to sleep donkey and come up with something for once. You are barely able to write English. Come up with a civilization of worth for once. Now you got the Western technology that you need.

Serbs are not allowed in because they are under Russian influence. Has nothing to do with democracy if it did then the EU would not be courting the Ukranian leadership despite whats going on over there (although they have now lost Ukraine to Russia IMO).

Turks were not needed for anybody. Both Arabs and Persian used them as slaves. Most of the scientists were Arabs and Persians. I don't know about any old Turkic scientists, poet or anything. Nor about any Turkish civilization that was not built on other peoples civilizations.

Can you name any Turkic city built entirely by Turks of any worth in Central Asia? Even in Turkey? Istanbul is an Greek city originally.

Mamluks were Georgians mainly. Nothing to do with Turks.

Where did the technology for all your refineries come from? Also we had alot civilizations but you are so ignorant you don't even accept, probably because you are jealous.

We are not scientist you fool we conquer then develope the local culture. We are statesmen and warriors who accept other cultures and recognize their achievements and allow them to flourish unlike your type who are actually under cover Nazi's.
