That did not prevent us from building ancient cities during Islam (too many to mention but start with Baghdad) nor ancient once such as Sana'a etc. that are World Unesco Heritage sites today and several thousands years old.

No, those were Persians. Most of the inhabitants are still Tajik. A Persian speaking people.
