F-INSAS assault rifle some options???

What os the point in this thread? The F-INSAS rifle is going to be Israeli-DRDO JV so nothing here is even a contender. Not that I wouldn't love to see these weapons in the hands on the IA infantry and the SCAR in use with Indian SOFs all accerorised-up.

I don't know when we will see F-INSAS in our soldiers' possession... its 2011 already and no difference in our infantry from 1999 Kargil war. Having a few special units armed with contemporary (NOT futuristic) weapons is not a mean feat. It is simply covering up darker inefficiencies.

Well frost stage of F-INSAS was meant to be introduced to certain units by late 2011- but I don't know of this first stage includes the rifle or if this comes later.

to examine and discuss choices for the F-INSAS rifle as of right now the details on the rifle are sketchy some reports suggest it will be a JV with Israel, others say DRDO will entirely make it (see mutli caliber weapon) and other reports suggest we will just procure from a foreign vendor and license produce them at OFB

but considerring the price of magpaul masada its not fissible its about 1.3 lakh a piece but the cz805 is a good gun from long ia is testing them(many) for their cqb operations mostly the para's though none of them can come close to xm8 which is a closed project
btw all new insas are comming and ofb is putting stake on kalantak
as far as the multicalibre thing its highly untested see the k11 is also put out of action due to problems and its unfeasible with the army as we can't go such hitech overnight their need to be training do you know a soldier fires nearly 1000 rounds in training only

sometime in the future the CZ805 would fire 6.8 if this is possible than we should go for it, the primary caliber of this F-INSAS rifle needs to be 6.8

crazeee is right the Masada is too expensive this one is cheaper and just as good but it needs to be able to fire 6.8 as the primary caliber

these carbine variants could fire 5.56 or below that

Heckler & Koch hk417 rifle

HK417

As the HK416's "bigger brother", the HK417 carries the baton of global success, bringing this tried and tested reliability to another calibre range. With the HK417, Heckler & Koch has implemented numerous technical changes arising directly from its daily use.

An infantry weapon was required with a fighting range over 500 metres and an effective terminal ballistic performance. There was increased popular demand from users for an easy to use and easily maintained assault weapon with optional silencer.

Our designers have fully satisfied these demands with the HK417. Its 7.62 mm x 51 NATO calibre not only provides the necessary range and penetrating power — but the handling is designed to be similar to the HK416 or comparable assault rifles. The HK417 is the first assault rifle in the world built to provide a full silencer option — a result of the unique gas regulation patented by Heckler & Koch that allows the user to switch from normal to silencer mode on the spot.

Thanks to the continued rigorous application of the modular concept, the HK417 provides an excellent level of flexibility and modularity. This produces one hundred percent interchangeability of the weapon system's components. The maximum numbers of components possible are compatible with the HK416, regardless of calibre. Various barrel lengths are available depending on their intended use, which means that the HK417 can be deployed in almost any scenario. At the same time, the free-floating rail system, patented by Heckler & Koch (MIL-STD-1913), gives the rifleman the freedom to choose the range of special accessories that he needs. In contrast to the traditional steel magazine, Heckler & Koch opted for a lighter and highly resistant polymer magazine for the HK417.

The use of add-on devices with assault rifles is becoming ever more important. With its improved GLM add-on grenade launcher, Heckler & Koch offers a universal support weapon that can be used with the HK417 and the HK416. With the suitable adapters, the GLM can be mounted on numerous third-party products. The GLM can be deployed as a stand-alone weapon in combination with a variety of buttstocks.

can someone tell me what gun this is?

031126_g3sas.jpg

Could be the G3 SAS, the MC51 or the HK51.These were compact H&K G3's for use by special forces during the 60's and 70's.None of them were actually made by H&K but instead by some other firms.Few of these G3 SAS/MC51 were used by the SAS, they were replaced by the HK53 which itself was replaced by the G36C.The MC51/G3 SAS were made by FR Ordnance a British Firm and had a 9.1" Barrel. While the HK51 which saw more widespread use with Law Enforcement Agenicies in USA was made by Fleming ordnance and had an 8.3" Barrel.

This gun in particular is an Airsoft. Most of them didn't have RIS rails and hardly any are sold now because other rifles in same caliber are available like FN SCAR-H CQC, H&K HK417 Assaulter and DS Arms SA58 OSW.
