This should help:how does what happened in desert storm and yugoslavia prove stealth in air combat?
Read more here; Modernizing ChinaIn early February 1991, China's High Command was stunned to realize just how far behind modern militaries the People's Liberation Army had fallen. The opening days of the Gulf War convinced PLA analysts that they were witnessing a revolution in military affairs (RMA). American stealth bombers penetrated Iraqi airspace undetected to strike their targets in Baghdad and elsewhere with impunity, while the allied naval armada sat comfortably offshore in the Persian Gulf, well outside the range of Iraqi defenses, launching wave after wave of air strikes and cruise missile attacks. The surgical bombing substantially degraded Iraqi air defenses, while electromagnetic warfare attacks blinded command and control networks. Allied information warfare experts spread viruses into Iraqi computers, scrambling software programs and causing confusion.
F-117 Nighthawk, in particular, has seen service in Panama, Iraq, Afghanistan and Bosnia.
Specially during Gulf War 1991 against Iraq:

In the past, air forces fought through elaborate defenses and accepted losses on their way to the target or rolled those defenses back. In the Gulf War, the Coalition could strike Iraqi air defenses immediately, and they never recovered from these initial, stunning blows. With the combination of stealth and accuracy possessed by the F-117 and cruise missiles, these two platforms carried out all attacks against downtown Baghdad; the F-117 operated at night and the TLAMs during the day.
Stealth technology is certainly war-tested. It has changed the dynamics of modern warfare. China and Russia are also developing stealth aircraft. Even Iran wants a stealth aircraft of its own.
Stealth aircraft is not necessarily invisible to every kind of radar system but it is very hard to detect in comparison to most conventional aircraft. In addition, factors such as smart weapons, night raids and distraction tactics can work in favor of steathy weapons during combat situations. For night raids, some stealth aircraft have been painted black.
Initially, stealth aircraft were designed to sneak deep in to enemy territory and conduct bombing missions with minimum chance of losses. Prominent examples for these roles include F-117 Nighthawk and B2 Spirit. Now the objective has been expanded to direct combat based roles. This is where aircraft like F-22A Raptor come in to the picture.
For detailed information on stealthy capabilities of F-22A Raptor, check this source. Though keep in mind that some stealth technology related information may be classified.
