Export bids for JF-17 Thunder Multirole Lightweight Fighter Aircraft

Calm down bud.. They already are our customers .. They operate our tanks, buy military equipment and even trained by us....

Big mistake on Pakistan's part.

with the attitude of Hasina I dont find that likely that we will ever enter in a trade deal with Bangladesh

hope not

Would be a huge blunder.

Sri Lanka or maybe Azerbaijan? Saudi can purchase the most expensive jets out there so they wouldnt go for JF 17. Theres too much anger against Burma on the domestic front for PAF to sell it to them at the moment. That only leaves Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan as the two viable options as far as I know.
What about Egypt..?! they were also interested in purchasing with TOT but the only hurdle in this sale was TOT.

Hi,
Petition
Last i checked this place was run by Junta which was in sanctions for poor Human right records and all, it's just recently after US pivot to Asia that US had to put up with them, otherwise they were more or less of North Korea , Actually they still are

Pakistan, China, Muslim countries - in fact no country conscious of human rights and freedom of people should have any dealing with this criminal nation. They are committing genocide on the Rohingyas whose plight is far worse than that of the Palestinians. Instead nations/individuals should aid the Rohingyas to fight for survival.

Could be Argentina.o_O
Last time I saw they had sent a delegation to China for possible purchase of weapons/planes to replace their old planes!

We have given asylum to 0.5 million rohingya .. Just a week back 5 million dollar aid was also sent... Atleast we have a bigger heart than bangladesh ... Which these people share ethnic ties with ... And yet does nothing except barking towards Pak.

Don't get influenced by what you see in the media or what SHW govt is doing or not doing. At field level common man, security forces, administration go out of the way to help them. Fyi, there are around 2 mlln Rohingyas living in BD for generations - ever since the Japanese occupation in WW II. They are doctors, engineers, teachers, govt servants - they are everywhere because they have somehow managed to obtain nationality documents. They own banks, five star hotels and are among the leading merchants. Rohingyas have nowhere to go except BD. If they have gone to Lyari or anywhere in the world it was with BD papers. Even for going for Hajj they have to go through BD.

When was the last time you checked? 2008?

I bet it has a much lower frontal rcs than any f16 variant as well as any mig sukhoi 4.5 gens because of dsi intakes. This feature can be used to market them already in addition to low operating cost and small size allowing it to land on highways in emergency.

Strong radar is necessary and if combined with conformal weapon bays under each wing behind inlets then would still be useful in 5th gen era as a silent thunder.

JF-17 wins first export order

The Chengdu/Pakistan Aeronautical Complex JF-17 Thunder fighter has secured its first confirmed export deal.

“A contract has been signed with an Asian country,” says Air Commodore Khalid Mahmood, the Pakistan air force officer who leads sales and marketing efforts for the type.

Citing client sensitivities, he declined to specify the customer and the number of aircraft it will obtain. Deliveries will start in 2017.

He says that sales for the JF-17, which is targeted for developing nations, have been held up by political turmoil in several Middle Eastern countries.

The aircraft is making its flying debut at this year’s air show. Pakistan’s air force has brought three examples this year. One will appear on the static display, one will appear in the flying display, and the third will serve as a backup.

The JF-17 contingent at Paris this year is 80 strong, representing a significant marketing push. Khalid says the show is a good venue for meeting prospective customers from French speaking countries.

He says that 11 countries are looking at the type, which mirrors previous comments made by Chinese defence export agency Catic, which also markets the aircraft, and Pakistan air force officials.

Khalid also provided an update of Pakistan’s induction of the type. So far, 54 examples have been delivered. The first 50 were originally delivered in a Block I configuration, and these are in the process of being updated to a Block II standard. The Block II configuration features improved avionics and better software, and adds a fixed air-to-air refuelling probe.

An additional 46 aircraft will be delivered in the Block II configuration. A subsequent 50 aircraft, which will push Pakistan’s fleet to 150 examples, will have a Block III configuration. These will all be delivered by the end of 2018.

The aircraft’s developers are still working out the specifications of the Block III aircraft, but upgrades could include an active electronically scanned array (AESA) or Passive electronically scanned array (PESA) radar, says Khalid. The configuration could also include an infrared search and track (IRST) sensor, stations under the forward fuselage for various pods, and expanded precision weapons capabilities.

A two-seat variant is also planned, which will serve mainly as a trainer. Pakistan produces 58% of the airframe and China 42%. The JF-17 is powered by a single Klimov RD-93 engine.

I hope it's not us.
JF-17 is a good option for such countries, No problem for Hardware, maintenance, Weaponry they are light cheap as Good for A2A and A2G.. We cant purchase B-2 Spirit or F22 its common sense.
