Export bids for JF-17 Thunder Multirole Lightweight Fighter Aircraft

Well if Bangladesh thinks it is a wise decision , good luck to them. I do not think that the JFT was available at the time when the Bangladeshi AF made a decision to procure more aircrafts. Your statement regarding other countries not touching JFT is unqualified and demands an explanation. It would tentamount to trolling otherwise.

Your second statement about PAF finding buyers is again more trolling as it is totally unqualified. JFT is a plane in evolution and as yet its manufacturers have internal orders to fulfill. Whether you like it or not JFT is a good plane and it has caught the eye of many countries who will no doubt buy the plane. It will take a little time but it will happen.

China can produce how much any one required so internal order can not be put as excuse.

And if china cant produce then why they are putting Jf17 in internantional shows ???

My question to all the people of knowledge here is why Pakistan not being able to attract buyers for a relatively cheap and capable aircraft? They have displayed it at different air shows. People have shown interest but nothing beyond that. why is that?

Too many people (nations) have shown keen interest in the JF-17, but Pakistan has to strengthen its air forces first; just remember that PAF needs 150 to 250 of these planes for itself, and at current production rate it will take a while (not that much time, since production is being constantly advancing at higher rates of planes per month).
Egypt wants a co-production as well as Turkey and at least a dozen countries have shown an important interest in it.
One can say it is already a big success, but to produce it for Pakistan and concretize all these interests(deals), it takes time, planning and much more .

Actually, if a nation like Egypt and Turkey want to set up their own production line, i think that will be the best way to start with. Giving some country to have license to produce something is still considered as an export and i don't think it would stop us from completing our own 150-200 plane order. As far as planning and setting up in those foreign countries is concerned, i think China (our 50% partner) would be there. Economically, we will be saving money and resources. By the time we feel content building enough of our own Block 1 and Block 2 from Egyptian and Turkish money, that will be the time we will officially start producing for other countries. I reckon the money gained from mass export will make us more zealous towards J-10, J-11 and for J-2X.

Your Idea is sound.
But I think they (at least in the Egyptian case) have talked about co-production instead of own production lines which will probably follow after the initial momentum of the Joint venture.
Anyhow any deal will be mutually beneficial to the parties involved in it.

Most of YOU including seniors are SO FAR OFF TRACK ITS astonishing

I cant believe there some people (seniors including) who think AIR FORCES replace a large fleet of F7 with a equally large fleet of J10

it DOES not work like that.

A single J10 CAN DO THE the job of 5 F7 or A5s

Likwise a sinle SU30MKI CAN DO THE job of 10 mig21 or A SINGLE F22 raptor the JOB of 5 x 15E eagles...

SO

When people harp on about THE PLAAF need JF17 to replace 2000 F7 & A5 they are talking nonsense.

THE PLAAF transformation from a predominte 2nd & 3rd generation fleet of 3000 obselete F6 F7 & J8 to a world class fleet of 1500 xx J10 J11 J15 SU30/27 and J20 WILL BE ACHIEVED with a much smaller fleet of fighters

In this fleet the J10 will play the single engined multi role fighter role
The FLANKERS the twin engined multi rolers
THE J20 the 5th generation roles

Thunder will not be needed as those 3 combat types will more far more lethel, efficent and effective on potential adveraries

Anybody who doubts PLAAF ability to induct 1500 LATE 4TH GEN fighters just lok at CHINA,s $150 BILLION annual defense budget

PS

JFT is stil useful for small budget air forces who need a 4 generation fighter in decent nos
first of all buddy i don't agee with the numbers that you have given......I mean you can't compare the Air superiority fighter{Su30Mki & J10A} with an interceptor{F7 & Mig21}......secondly the major reason why most the airforces are reducing the number of Fighter Jets in the invetory is

a}Multirole Jets-In mean LCA Mk2 In IAF can fill the role of both Jaguar and Mig 21 in our airforce similarly JF 17 will fill the role of both F7 and Miraage 5 in their force.....you don't need seprate aircrafts for A to G and A to A role.....

b} Increased Range of Present Gen Aircrafts and Air refuelers...which helps them to cover large area.....

Before opening your orifice read the post completely and take its jist in . taking things out of context will lead to the stupid questions that you guys keep on asking. in case you are lazy enough to not want to read, we have an internal requirement which is being fulfilled. There are at least 9 nations if not more that are negotiating with CATIC? PAC for procurement of the plane. This takes time. Time and time again I have explained to youi giving you an example of your MRCA order which has taken years to finalize and is still not been finalized(negotiations on price and specs ongoing), and our own acquisition of F16s in 2006 which took well over 3-4 years. What are you guys trying to prove.

I am a bit sure and hopeful that the Block-IIs will have much better features like Composites, Retractable IN flight refueling, CFTs, FLIR(Like on J-10B), WS-13(100KN) and most probably a dual seat as well.

NO , It WILL NOT have these features at all.

Is JF-17 block 2 being worked on guys? And are there plans to develop it's radar and engine locally?

For the first part: Yes. its production lines has started.
Second part: No, engines will be exported from China, some parts of radar are produced but most of it is assembled in JF-17 avionics facility at PAC.

By Farhan Bokhari Correspondent

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani officials have confirmed Chinese assertions that the co-produced Chengdu Aerospace Corporation (CAC)/Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft could be exported to at least one African and one Asian customer by 2017-2018.

Ma Zhiping, president of China's Chengdu Aerospace Corporation (CAC), told IHS at the 2012 Singapore Airshow that China expected to sell up to 300 of the multirole aircraft to "Middle Eastern and African" countries, without naming the likely clients.

The Pakistan Air Force plans to induct at least 150 JF-17s, although this number could increase to 250. Pakistan has also negotiated the purchase of at least two squadrons of the CAC J-10 Meng Long fighter aircraft from China, although a contract has not yet been concluded.

"In today's fighter plane market, the JF-17 clearly has an edge. For a modest price, you get all the quality that you buy from Western suppliers," a Pakistani official told IHS. "For a country which is conscious about costs, buying the JF-17 makes infinitely more sense than any other fighter plane."

While both Chinese and Pakistani officials have compared the JF-17 with the Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon, Western defence officials say the comparison is unfair. "Maybe you can compare the JF-17 to an earlier version of the F-16 but not the most modern one," said a Western defence official in Islamabad. Later-model F-16s fitted with an active electronically scanned array radar have an obvious capability edge over the JF-17, while US officials would also point to the reliability of the F-16's F110-GE-129 powerplant.

He added that Egypt and Malaysia were among the countries rumoured to have shown an interest in purchasing the JF-17. Sudan and Zimbabwe have also previously been mentioned as potential customers.

Is ko export karnay se pehlay is ko induct to kar lo.

Saal guzar gia hai but no news on third squadron of JF-17:(
