Export bids for JF-17 Thunder Multirole Lightweight Fighter Aircraft

J 20 or any other flanker using WS 10 Chinese engine wasn't that much big of a news. But now they have started to employ them in single engine J10 fighters tell us for real that the Chinese do have the confidence to use their local engines in single engine serial produced fighter jets. Their engines have matured and are reliable enough to put them in J-10s. That's a massive achievement.

That's why we have been hearing rumors of J-10Cs coming into PAF soon. May be PAF is now confident enough to induct fighters with Chinese engines as acquiring Al31 flanker engine in PAF wouldn't be that much easy for us due to India's Su-30MKIs utilizing the same engines
The one used by J-20 domestic engine has higher thrust compare to previous WS-10 , same level as AL-41F engine therefore giving it supercruise capabilities.

Specify the engine model plz. Is it WS-15? Last when I checked a while ago J-20 was still using a variant of WS-10 engines.

And topic of my previous post was regarding maturity of WS-10 engines.

WS-15 generate 18000kg of thrust while WS-10B upgrade variant of WS-10 generate 14000-15000kg of thrust.

In mid-September the Argentine government released its draft budget for 2022, including funding for the acquisition of 12 Pakistan Aeronautical Complex JF-17 combat aircraft. Assuming the acquisition is approved, Argentina will become the fourth operator of the type after Pakistan, Myanmar and Nigeria, which together operate 145 of the aircraft. Based on current contracts, Aviation Week Network data show that number rising to 185 by 2025 as additional aircraft are ordered.
The JF-17 is now set to become the most widely operated Chinese combat aircraft in service with overseas customers by the end of 2023. Both China and Pakistan hope that the aircraft can build on its early successes and emulate the performance of its predecessors in export markets.

worries

As I was saying.....I believe a western option will be taken by the Argentines.
Azerbaijan and Iraq are a more interesting question
On a normal day, there won't even be a competition here. Argentina would have gone for a western fighter.
However since you are our adversary and we do have alot of influence and technological reach, we have already prevented Argentina from acquiring any Western fighter jet, in fact Argentina can't even buy fighters from non western sources (apart from China and Russia) since we still have influence and technological reach over almost every other major non western arms producing country on earth. Reason Argentina couldn't get south Korean T-50 fighters it earlier wanted. And of course , there's no way any western country will go against us by selling their fighters to Argentina.
So Argentina's only choice is Fighter's from Russia and China . I will say Russia has a higher chance of getting this deal though for obvious reasons.

Not surprising

1 it built on international standards using western standard such as mi1553 and 1760 etc

2 was built with export in mind

3 had a backing for paf and China govt financials

4 older types like mirages, migs, f5 and a4s coming to an end so market exists

5 lastly no other aircraft can beat its price and performance

Sorry no, Russian Mig-35 is not what Argentina looking for. They want a low maintenance , decent technology advance single engine warplane. Argentinian are no fool. They know Chinese send a space station totally by their own effort while put a working rover on Mars. Something the Russian, not able to do it until now.

Chinese technology is not some 60s outdated thing. Anybody who thinks Chinese cant produced better avionics or weapon system better than Russian need to get their head check.

We can only wait and see what they will choose. Moreover, arms sales isn't always about capabilities, political considerations are often involved as well.
Plus putting a rover on Mars has nothing to do with topic at hand, neither does any country considers that when buying weapon, so don't understand why you are bringing this up. You saying Russia hasn't done that before hence your weapons are better than theirs is a laughable reason. Lol So does that mean that Russia will also have better weapons simply be a there are things they have done which China still hasn't? Lool

So based on published specs from recent air show pl-15 is 5 inch longer than Sd-10 and same circumference and about 10/11kg Heavier

But range wise, number of guidance mechanism wise more than twice
The capability

Cost ?? Not sure but perhaps twice expensive as well ??

Someone shared not confirmed as-10 as ~300k$ so ~600$ which is still far far cheaper then any western

Chinese or more like a Joint Venture Aircraft.

The reality is with 58 percent share its more pak then anything but yes Chinese helped and did majority of design while production is majority of Pak but unlike other pak did get source code for avionics and 80/90 avionics including design the reason why pac can integrate and pac can sell by then self

Not sure is the case for ak and past one like k8
