Export bids for JF-17 Thunder Multirole Lightweight Fighter Aircraft

other than twitter any other news confirming Azerbaijan order?

Azerbaijan's delegation was very passionate about Jf17 during induction ceremony of Jf17 Bravo.
They will eventually acquire Jf17. But have they placed order already? Officials job to confirm.
thank you sir.

I must say Nigeria has one of the strangest procurement programmes

I mean its like 3 x here and 4 x there and 2 x of this and 5 times of that

It will soon become a logistical nightmare for them with small assessment of all types of aircraft

I just hope PAC sends a strong team for maintenance and training to Nigeria

and this should be the protocol for all exports related to aviation sector

not only does not mean extra cash but also ensures our standards are maintained not only in Pakistan but also around the world
so these 3 jets will make a wing? what is that 3 jet formation called? it must be a multrole specification to cover everything from ground strike, naval strike, air defence, CAP, making tea, flight past, escort and photo shoot.

They're having issues with F16s. Does that make Lockheed look bad?

It only highlights Iraqi incompetence in maintaining their assets. Don't buy something you can't afford to maintain. Simple as that.

When they had trouble maintaining CH-4s that didn't stop Western media from bashing Chinese drones...

Back on topic.

I feel that JF-17 Block II came to the export game half a decade too late. Suppose that it was ready for export around the 2004-2005 period, it would've filled the gap for a lot of Mig-21/F-5 replacements. There are too many second hand F-16s on the market now. Hopefully they can port air-cooled AESA for future block II variants.

Hi,

Thank you for an excellent post---.

Realistically---the JF17---BLK B ---the 2 seater would have been the sales lead aircraft. If developed originally alongwitht the single seater---. By 2008-2010 the aircrafts would be ready for offer to other nations---.

at that time---the F35 was not for sale to anyone---and neither was F16 on sale to general 2nd tier european nations.

At this time---the F35 is available to every other top tier european nation---and the F16 available to 2nd tier US allies---.

Which really hurt the market for the JF17---.

In early 2000's---a rafale deal would have kept the French on pakistan's side---and Paf would have benefitted for the JF17 with French equipment---.

Paf tried and played the French for a fool---the French cut their knees off---.

The JF17 has yet to recover from that bad decision of the Paf---.

You give---to take---. PAF had to give in and purchase the Rafales---and then would ask the French for developing a second tier aircraft to Rafale---.

Being so desperate to sell the Rafale at that time---the French would have helped the Paf to develop the JF17---.

How does that even make any sense?

PAF wanted a light-weight fighter of its own as close to the F-16 as possible without having to face any Western sanctions. The French wouldn't even sell the Mirage-2000 to Pakistan and you're suggesting they would sell the Rafales instead?

Check the Person who made the post before taking the time to reply. Not everyone here knows what they’re talking about 😂

Hi,

I have asked the webmaster many a times to force the members to post their age group and their work background---so as to understand where they are coming from---.

Are you worth sharing information if you even did not know about the French offering the Rafale to pakistan---?

Do you really have any value as a poster if you did not even know about that---?

Does no one ever teach you to ask when and how it happened if you do not know if something happened---?

Does no one ever teaches you kids any manners of discussion or asking about information that you do not know---?

If you bothered to use couple of functioning brain cells, you would've realised I asked couple of questions. Let me post them again for you?
  • Q1. How does that even make any sense?
  • Q2. PAF wanted a light-weight fighter of its own as close to the F-16 as possible without having to face any Western sanctions. The French wouldn't even sell the Mirage-2000 to Pakistan and you're suggesting they would sell the Rafales instead?
This time don't respond like a senile old fart but provide some educated sensible info if you have any for discussion.

Hi,

You are a pakistani---that is why I would respond to you---maybe you might learn something---.

What PAF needs is of NO VALUE---the issue is what PAKISTAN's INTEGRITY & DEFENCE needed---. And they were and are not a light weight fighter---.

In war---in combat---in weapons procurement many a choices have to be made narrowed down---a lots of compromises have to be made to get to your goal to achieve your target of what you want to get---it is called give and take.

The seller of your weapons systems also knows that---and the only person who did not understand that is the Paf---.

French being desperate to sell the rafale would have done a lot of good things for Pakistan---.

The procurement of rafale in itself would have sabotaged india of getting a more advanced aircraft---F35 was not available to them at that time.

Paf has lied to the nation that its need is a lightweight fighter aircraft---. Paf has been deceptive in that regard---.

Pakistan needed a medium weight fighter in large numbers and a heavy weight strike platform in smaller numbers---.

See---you still do not have the ability to think what is needed---that is why you are still stating that " PAF need was a lightweight ". If you had the ability to analyze---you would have chosen yourself to have made that statement---.

In good old days---you created alliances with smaller tribes by marrying the not too "handsome" daughter of the clan chief or marrying your son---or you could marry your daughter to make alliance with a powerful warlord---.

France was in a conundrum----they desperately wanted Pakistan air force to get married to their Rafale---. If Paf had married Rafale---there would have been some wonderful toys coming in the DOWRY---.

They didn't sell us Mirage 2000 because they wanted to sell Rafaels to Pakistan. Check the facts before posting

Selling JF-17s to any country would be a feather in Pakistans cap, and nothing that would make us look bad due to end user issues. If anything, if say Iraqis or anyone else have issues with maintenance, it just means another revenue stream for PAC in terms of support services it could offer.
As far as the jet itself is concerned, PAF has been flying it for a decade. It's already a proven aircraft in every sense.

3 x JF 17A Block ( I / II ?) = $ 46.32 Million

Unit price = $ 15.44 Million

Targeting Pods for Jeff (x 3?) = $ 9.74 Million (Aselsan's ASELPOD?)

Hi,

Right now it looks like a "feather"---but when it is found broken down on the side of the road---that photo ain't presenting a pretty picture---.
Except it wont be on the side of the road. Its a non-issue and more of an opportunity for $
