Export bids for JF-17 Thunder Multirole Lightweight Fighter Aircraft

JF17 will be a stepping stone for Pakistan Fighter Aircraft export industry. Ofcourse, Pakistan is not hoping to earn big with JF17 but just to enter into this business by selling some of the aircrafts here and there so that it can be mention in our CV. Such export endorsements, will later help us in getting bigger contracts when Project Azm is popping up a very capable 4.5/5th generation plane every second month i.e 8 to 10 years from now.

sir...please read earlier posts by members...they are(not me) implying that "bigger" ACs are available to replace older PLAAF jets thus ignoring JF-17 in their own fleet in spite of at least 50% contribution in the same.
Its a common sense India is next to us while any Chinese aircraft need to cover a longer distance.
First its idiotic to ask why when Chinese is producing J-10 Size plane. All of their J-7 are old inventory.
Its you who claim who claim bigger better nonsense. What more need to be add on Block-3 to make it a better plane?????
are you saying that MMRCA jets and finalist Rafale are among "Smallest / The worst Plane"?

i am sure you are wrong about that...

anyway let's stick to the topic of this thread...
I am talking about your plane. The smallest fighter plane on earth LCA. For your size obsession (Bigger Better).

Yes Pls Stick to the topic which is related to export bid.

@chetan_chpd
There are no capacity issues at PAC. In next few months PAC would be satisfying export orders, after which JF-17 Block III production would commence. Meanwhile PAF will make do with whatever it has and however it can.

Beyond this, there is nothing to argue about. Good day.

nobody asked it!

you seriously believe that? are you trying to say that all the money, man hours spent, engineers and technicians at this side do not know a thing or two about jets? why always bring Tejas in here? we have innumerable threads for that...

i was bro... nobody is discussing the second topic (extra burden on PAC related)

Answers for your questions are all in this thread and other threads. You are not the only one who had this questions, other members from Indin have already asked same questions.
Why China is not inducting Jf-17?
China build this Joint fighter jet for export purpose. They had no intention to induct it since they already had J-10.
J-10 has advance technology, radar and weapon system compare to Jf-17 Block 2.
JF-17 is an advanced, light-weight, all weather, day / night multi-role fighter aircraft. It’s light-weight, low cost smaller in size compare to F-16.
In performance Jf-17 Block 2 has similar performance as F-16 Block 30s but with new AESA radar, better avionics and sensors performance has significantly improved and block 3 performance will be much better than F-16 block 50/52.
PAC had no capacity issue at this time. Pakistan can increase production based on requirements.

Jf17 is light weightfighter like gripen lca mirage2000
While j10 f16 are medium weight flighters

Thus comparison is difficult

this forum is meant for discussion right? if you dont want to contribute...then at least keep quite...

This is a joint venture between PAC and CATIC so you are ignoring the fact that the production line of CATIC is also included so if let's say PAC can build 24 aircrafts in a year time as they are building Blk 2 and meanwhile transitioning towards Blk 3 together so all you are looking at is not slow production rate but consistent production for Block 2 which is on minimum 16 aircraft to 18 aircraft per year and rest 6 or 4 been dedicated for transition towards Block 3 SR production meanwhile completing the Block 2 orders and all the new orders are mostly from those countries which are interested in Block 3. Where as if you include CATIC production let's say at a pace of 24 per year shifted to Block 3 as well then their would be 48 fighters combined production per year which is a big number.

I understand, due to the size difference, it’s not exactly apple to apple comparison.

see? the three replies above proves that the discussion can be civil if you stop questioning the need to discuss in the first place or simply tell someone interested to get out...

Hi,

The issue comes up when every new comer wants to start back a mile 10 when the discussion has already reached mile 1000---.

there may be multiple threads with following question asked before...but kindly re-answer the same...

"why China/ PLAAF does not use JF-17 for replacing its old J-7/other jets?"

also, wouldn't it be counter productive that to give extra burden on shoulders of PAC of supply/maintenance of JF-17 of foreign air forces after sales?

Hi, i believe you missed the detailed answer to your question dear and thus the discussion (which as you said, is purpose of the forum) was dragged on to three pages for no reason at all, time and space we could all have used for better things. Its sad that you had to look for the answer for same question in different threads while it was right there, just a few posts after yours!

Anyway, whats done is done. I am quoting the reply here again for your reference :)

There is nothing suspecious, until & unless one can't understand. JF-17 was our requirement which was only possible through Joint Venture with China having strong industrial base/friend to Pakistan. The real question should be "Why PLAAF needs JF-17 while having several ACs platforms as per their need/requirement?"

Pakistan requires JF-17 1) for PAF & 2) foreign customers. JF-17 in its own class, is not yet required by PLAAF because the idea was all about to serve our need & foreign customers asking for cost effective/budget fight plane.

"Reluctant" & "Suspicion" is merely an intentional boundary of mind that couldn't understand the simple fact but repeats question again & again. JF-17 is not just the Fighter we need for PAF but also it helped to establish our foundations for future/Next Gen ACs.

Regards,

Have also deleted all pointless discussion since it happened only because our friend missed the answer and had to keep looking for the same.

Everyone have a good day!

what if malaysian choose jf-17 thunder and ask to replace RD-93 engines.
