Sunni Saudi Arabia ?

I don't think that President Ahmadinejad said that word, RT added it. anyhoo I suspect him no longer being the president is because of his ummati ideas
Ummati Idea ? he is the one that started the Problem with KSA
he is just talking nonsense because he want to be in media. he is just another trump

Ummati Idea ?
yes, he was a true believer --loved by over 60% of the people-- who aimed to create a riasat e Medina in the land of "aryans"
he is the one that started the Problem with KSA
misunderstandings, result of conspiracies from within and from outside

he would have been elected for the 3rd time had the Supreme fraudsters' Council not blocked him.

I agree. He fell out of favor with the Clerics council or whatever it’s called, that short lists Presidential candidates, and more importantly out of favor with the Ayatollah.

Iran’s President exercises nominal control over groups like the IRGC, so interventionist foreign policy and actions by the IRGC and associated groups are usually green-lighted by the Ayatollah & the clerics, which explains why the approach from the elected political side (President) is often a lot more pragmatic than the approach from the clerical/Ayatollah (religiously ideological side) side, and by extension the IRGC.

One reason, that you alluded to, is that when political leaders like Ahmedenijad become too popular, its perceived as a threat by the clerics, who then act to neutralize any potential rivals through the control they exercise over the system.

A cold peace between Iran and Saudi is indeed good for every one (it will never be a true friendship even during the shah Iran had a cold relationship with Saudi). Many outside forces will not allow this peace to occur . Easy to guess who these forces are.
Ahmadinejad did a lot for Iran but he also damaged Iran by his big mouth so history will judge him .He sure did more for Iran that this current buffoon (rohani) has done. And yes Iranian foreign policy is not done by President he is just a voice in the decision making.

any couyntry hostile or opposed to iran has a justified reason to be suspicious and critical of such statement by Iranians given the bad blood but that all said.
Ahmedin is the only Iranian leader with a Saudi King

for all their worth I never saw such images in my life where Saudi and Iranian leadership will be smiling and holding hands,.

Pakistan can benefit the most if both of these countries stop conspiring against each other and normalise their relations.

by the way it doesnt matter if he is not in the government. no one can make statement of such significance inside Iran which has a very controlling regime and punishes people for mere political differences.

why get anal over the wording and forget the essence of the message? lets agree he said it as its stated and there is no shame in it. Iran and Saudi Arabian regimes have the influence of two different sects of Islam

Sunni Saudi Arabia ?
lets move on from butchering the wording of the sentence and pay attention to the essence of the message which is calling for peace.
why we Muslims must continue to give others a reason to laugh and joke about our propensity to drown ourselves on petty arguments.

Maybe Iran wants to initiate a track 2 diplomacy, considering Biden is in power and knowing how Saudi's will be opposing all types of deal so maybe a sign of willingness of engagement.

Inconceivable, heavens will fall if Iran and Saudi Arabs genuinely accept each other.
