Not really. The US completely sided with Iraq. the US weapons sale to Iran was a matter of its own interests and also Iran's increasingly aggressive actions, like Beirut bombings, etc... They saw it beneficial that Iraq and Iraq fight each other and destroy each others' infrastructure and military.

But you shouldn't forget that Iran, historically and culturally, has never been an anti-Jewish country. Cyrus II the great (Koresh as you call it) saved the Jews from the Babylonian slavery and helped them rebuild their temples. I had a half-Jewish friend in Russia, she told me that her mother (who was Jewish) always told her not to reveal her Jewish roots to others. She told me that even Today in Russia (She lives in StP), some people tell her that Jews are rude and that hurts and she tries to change the topic. Such discriminatory attitudes against Jews have never existed in Iran even in modern times. Today's Iran still hosts the 2nd largest Jewish population in the Middle East after Israel.
Not really. That's pretty far from the reality. I've even read Netanyahu calling for using tactical nukes against Iran if necessary on Haartez and Ynet News.
