On the occasion of the Egyptian-US strategic dialogue scheduled for the end of this month
This was an analysis of Jeff Goodson on the situation in Egypt and relations with the United States on 1 July 2015
The writer referred to the deals that Egypt is taking away from America
Of course, he tried to encapsulate everything politically. Most analysis of the political situation in Egypt and relations with the United States.
In this paragraph he talks about the beginning of Egypt negotiations on the Mirage of the UAE:
Al-Sissi went elsewhere for arms. Egypt cut a $5.5 billion deal with France for Rafale fighter jets and began negotiations with the United Arab Emirates for Mirage 2000-9s. It also started negotiating a $3.5 billion arms deal with Russia, likely to include S-300 surface-to-air missiles, and planned joint naval drills".
@Gomig-21 and others
Where would the Mirage 2000-9 fit in in the current and projected EAF procurements?
It is called a mini Rafale because it has many components shared with the latter.. So will Egypt stop at 36 Rafale for now and get the 2k-9 as a stop gap till the Rafale F4 upgrade is ready?
