The F-16 and Mirage 2000 frames are from the 80s and 90s. They have a 30 to 40 year life span. Past that they'll be unsafe to fly. So they will be phased out gradually over the next 10 to 20 years.

F-16s can be refurbished, many parts get replaced during their service anyways. Engines are to get replaced along with the Radar and Avionics, most fuselage skin parts are made locally in Egypt, this would leave the wings to be replaced along with some parts inside the fuselage... doable since we don’t pay for most of the upgrades anyways. If we can have the US increase their Military Aid it’ll be way easier too.

This is simply not true. For one thing, the Rafael's AESA radar is superior to the Su-35s Ibris-E PESA. All Russian fighters, including the Su-57, lack sufficient BVR capabilities. The Su-35 can definitely outperform the Rafael in WVR with its fancy thrust vectoring but that is about it.

Not nowadays, the French don’t hand in more avionics to the Russians since the Crimea crisis, if it was to happen it’ll be in Egypt and would depend on how dependent Egypt will be when it comes to the Su-35s.

Congressmen are lobbied to abide by the QME, they were lobbied to make it exist back in 1992. But since Egypt decoys it by going to the French, Russians and sitting on tables with the Italians then a chance to turn it down though negotiations. Like I say, they now know that Egypt has more plans to sign mega defence deals with the Europeans.

The Mistrals were sold to Egypt because of the Embargo posed on Russia after Crimea, in a similar manner Algerian and other flankers are equipped with French avionics. The French knew the size of the mistrals before the built them lol.

Ever since India acquired the Rafale it’s been called essentially junk by Pakistanis on PDF. No one wants it. No one uses it. But it was only a few years ago that Pakistan was thinking of purchasing the same aircraft.

The article is sourced from a dubious Russian publication which, not surprisingly, is pushing the Su-35 as a better product.

Yes and no, yes because Israel lobbies and no because the Arab countries were stupid enough to not stop it. The problem isn’t that Israel spreads some influence, it’s that the Arabs do not too. The Iranians spread influence in the Democratic Party, next thing you know is that the Iranian Nuclear deal is signed and that Arabs and Israelis are doing their best to counter Iran.
