'Dying' Russia's Birth Rate Is Now Higher Than The United States'

lol........ok. Just as i thought, no sense of introspection.

And i never said anything about aid to India, Egypt. Was talking about WP countries. But nevermind, you're too closed of a mind. Let's just agree to disagree.

The main purpose of the Soviet Union - taking care of the workers and peasants of the world, not only the Soviet Union.
That is why the standard of living in Eastern Europe was much higher than in the USSR. That is why the Soviet Union sponsored costly space program of Bulgaria, Afghanistan, and all other countries.
The Soviet Union at the expense of its own citizens solve problems of Hungary or Poland.
When in Britain "wicked witch" laying off miners and other workers, which is why many people were on the street - the workers of the USSR gave the salary for one day each week to help British workers.

This is a fairy tale.
Thats fact. Almost all incomes of Soviet economy were from oil. USSR could not even feed itself and was buying wheat in Canada. So obviously when oil prices collapsed, USSR economy could not last for long time.

Why Saudi Arabia did not fall? Or Norway?
Saudi Arabia has 3 times more oil than USSR.
Saudi Arabia oil production cost is about 3 times lower than in USSR.
Saudi Arabia population is 10 times lower than in USSR.

Norway economy is not that oil dependant as USSR, it not as militarized as was USSR, very small population as well.

Birth rate is better represented by female fertility rate. For 2013:

United States - 2.06
Russia - 1.61

Isn't the correct replacement ratio about 2.1 to keep population steady, assuming zero immigration?

lol, tell me more about the Afghanistani space programme. Or Bulgarian for that matter. Was it costly just to train a few astronauts and send them in already paid Soviet rockets for Soviet crews? :dirol:

In Norway?

Not sure about Norway, but in Saudi Arabia for sure.

That failed. Have you ever heard of a saying that in a society in which everythings belongs to everyone, some are getting more then the others. Socialism can only succeed in a corruption free society.

On average, the share of oil revenues in the budget of the USSR - 8%.
It is a lot, but to say here that this was the cause of the collapse of the economy - is ridiculous.

More or less. It depends on mortality level. In western countries with very low mortality levels I guess even 2.06 would be enough.

Yes, 2.06, plus a small rate of immigration growth would balance USA population out fairly well without an adverse pyramid. 1.61 spells trouble, with or without immigration.

You think you can get a man from the street and put him to the space ship?
In many USSR - allied countries were space laboratories and programs.

Thats fairy tales. Like official rate of dollar was 0.6 rubel, while real cost on black market was 2-3 rubel.

USSR exported some 1.5 billion barrels a year. Thats 90 billion $ (if oil costs 60$ a barell). Then oil collapsed to 20$. So USSR lost some 60 billion $ a year.

In addition most of the other export of USSR was also resources and their prices also depend on oil. So overall USSR lost nearly 100 bln $ a year.

And total income of USSR budget was 360 billion rubel. Thats less than 150 billion according to black market rate.

USSR does not depend on the value of the dollar. Ruble, in contrast to the U.S. dollar had a gold content and has been hard currency.
Once again - oil revenues in the 1990 th year - 5% of the budget of the USSR.

There was not any gold content in rubel. Spare me of than nonsense. If there was gold content there would be no black market.

It said: "bank notes backed by gold, precious metals and other assets of the State Bank"
And what we have here?

nothing.
Black market, inflation, corruption, speculation, shortages and so on - the consequences of Gorbachev's "reforms".

How its backed? How much gold 1 rubel worse? - 10 tons of gold? 1 gram? 1 mg? 1 atom of gold? :cheesy:

Sorry but without exact sum that notion worse nothing.

Here real the golden backing:

It says how much exactly 1 rubel costs. That was tzar's rubel however. Soviet rubel was bunch of bollocks.

lol....2 astronauts from Bulgaria went into space....and noone else. Upon collapse, USSR left a 100 bill.$ debt for Russia to pay.
Man, who are you kidding here? You don't even know enough for an intelligent debate, other empty words of how grandiose everything was back in the day and how evil agent Gorbatchev sold out.
