Drone attacks cannot be stopped: Rehman Malik

Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday said that drone attacks cannot be stopped; we are trying to resolve the issue through diplomatic channels, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to the media persons in Islamabad, Malik said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s visit to Afghanistan has been a positive one, in which misunderstandings between the two countries were also discussed.

“The leadership of the two countries has agreed to work together for peace in the region,” said the interior minister.

In response to a question, Malik said that issues related to Balochistan were also discussed with the Afghan officials.

. . . .
What? He only spoke the truth.

This brings us to few important questions :

1. Is Pakistan helpless when it is dealing with US (apart from a few instances of brave public posturing)?
2. a. Is the ISI helpless against the CIA which has established a network to parallel the ISI.
2. b. Does it not create a situation of two lions in a single den and they do not get along well ?
3. Is Pakistan an extended battlefield to the Afghanistan war and is US using Pakistan army against its own will ?
4. Are the people of Pakistan aware of the grave consequences of a country's leadership not in control and with no choice?

Shame on you Malik!

Isn't PPP immune to shame and all such feelings ?

On one hand Benazir had futuristic plans, she was a great leader she has a political foresight
On the other hand she banged three out of Zardari.
Was she blind to see what she was going to produce ?

Thus shameless thugs they are, by blood.

Unless each and every one of them is not pulled out in the National Assembly ground.
Hanged, and then skinned and their skins left to bake in sun while bodies fed to the Margalla Hyenas.

right down to the child born the same day.

Unless the blood lines are eradicated the problem will not go.

He is right cuz ..he the paid slave of US....:woot:

I agree with you that Rehman Malik, Zardari and Gilani are all paid slaves of U.S. But what I dont understand is what do these slaves do with so much American money. If they want to be paid slaves of U.S. atleast make good use of the money like Musharraf did and help improve the economy and use the money for development of the country, but these PPP politicians are not even doing that. The finance minister always looks miserable nervous and depressed, the economy is in shambles, Pakistan is so divided today, Pakistan's sovereignity is taken as a joke. PPP politicians want to destroy Pakistan.

I think what he is trying to say here is not that Pakistan does not have the power to stop the drone attacks. I don't understand why it is such a big deal,

1. We agree that the extremists are infiltrating Pakistan through Afghanistan.
2. We agree that the bombings and terrorism is a direct result of this infiltration.
3. We agree that these terrorists have taken refuge in the northern areas and plan their activities from there.
4. We have already started several operations to clear the northern areas from these terrorists and have suffered heavy casualties.

Isn't it convenient that we let the drones handle the problem? Our Army cannot cover the area that can be monitored by drones no matter how efficient they are, so to avoid the collateral damage let the drones do their job. What the army can demand is better intelligence sharing from the CIA while conducting drone attacks to avoid as much civilian casualties as possible.
For those who are under the illusion created by the Mullah that these drone attacks are turning the Taliban revengeful against Pakistan are naive, these terrorists are brought up with hate fed inside their heads against Pakistan army and its people and if anyone thinks by stopping the drone attacks we will stop the suicide bombing, it will not.

As for cursing Peoples Party for playing into the hands of USA for money, tell me the name of one single politician who isn't? Name a single politician who isn't corrupt? Who do we replace the existing lot with?

Please.. note why the hell Malik is poking his nose in matters beyond his sphere of duties?

Malik is head of police and FIA, we only expect from him is his work report not technical advise on matters of drones technology.

Dont be so naive. There is a much bigger game being played in tribal areas than "terrorists" "extremists".

The U.S. drone attack in March killed all civilians.

How would you feel if a foreign country attacked your village or town in Pakistan and killed all your relatives.

You have no idea. Blame your army for this. They are complicit in drone attacks. Otherwise, even the tiniest of armies could have shot down these drones. They are either partners with US or just too scared of them.
