No, i didn't know that, i mean ski-jump issue... But i can say this... I saw a SEDEF SHIPYARD's employee's comment @ face and he said "Construction will begin about half of 2015 and it will have high heat resistant coat(meaning it's for F-35B)..."

I said that we will buy F-35 from the beginning because it would be a waste having such a platform and not having F-35B operational capabilities... Also i said first we heard order was like 100+16... And i said this +16 should be F-35B... It will be so good... Additional to this capability we will experience how to build & operate an aircraftcarrier.... Perfect...

This is not a surprise for me but a very nice news indeed... :enjoy:

And BTW answer to the question "Does Turkey Need an Aircraft Carrier(Juan Carlos LHD)?"

Yes, sure and this is just a beginning... 8-)

lol :)

you probably need to know I am not considered Chinese by most of the Chinese member here, although I can speak, read, write, and listen to Chinese perfectly and I lived in China for about 18 years on and off and my mother is an ethnic Chinese

So, this Chinese chest thumping is really not my game :)

Lose bolts...nevermind.

Yes Turkey does need that aircraft carrier. If we can waste money on building a palace for Erdoğan, we can also spend it on buying this equipment.
That's exactly what I was thinking about. at least in this way, it has not been spent on useless luxury stuff.

Can anyone inform us about the capability of Israel to counter LHD in the eastern Mediterranean Sea?

"Israel can respond with the less costly augmentation of its anti-access and area-denial capabilities."

@cabatli_53 @Neptune @ozi2000 or other members who know something about it.

I know that article. That sentence was to satisfy the citizens. Besides, IDF is well aware of the threat.
Currently the Israeli Navy composes by Corvettes, Missile boats, FACs and submarines. AFAIK, the main equipment in service of IDF-Navy are:

Mk32 and Mk46 torpedoes and missiles RGM-84/UGM-84 Harpoon and IAI Gabriel. These equipment cannot comfort with the fleet escorting our LHD.

In future IDF plans to aquire MEKO-100 multipurpose frigates which have a displacement of 2,200 tonnes. There's a rule in naval warfare. A multipurpose frigate always has it's warfare capabilities reduced since it's a multipurpose frigate.

Their only sole strike capability against TNF is their Dolphin-class submarines. But they only have 3 whereas TNF poses 13 Type209/1400 submarines (5 of them are 1200 variant). Add the upcoming AIP submarines.

After TCG Levent's commission, it'll be a detachment of the Battle Fleet Command. It'll be escorted by a fleet similar to that of USN's CSGs or French Navy's Force d'Action Navale.

LHD will be escorted by a task force composed with advanced AAW, ASW and ASuW capabilities. TF-2000, TF-100 and Type-214 AIP will be the main actors of this so planned fleet. In addition; TF-2000 will be armed with Laser CIWS and Atmaca anti-ship missile which will have land attack capability as well. She'll have several advanced countermeasures&decoys against submarines, thanks to Aselsan. Type 214 will be armed with smart heavy torpedo AKYA. AAW capability of the fleet will be provided by Hisar-O and RIM-161 SM-3; if not, RIM-156B SM-2ER Block IV. CAFRAD and AAW missiles will be a game changer. Israel will lose air force advantage against TF-2000.

We'll never be enemies. Both countries don't have the guts to attack each other.

As you see that article is just to satisfy the readers from Greece, Egypt, Israel. Rather than that the main question should be, what will be TNF's strategy against the three countries I mentioned in East Mediterranean since they are going to combine their navies in the opens of Cyprus.

What worries me the most about our ships safety is the possible possession of rail guns by the IDF in the near future

A new generation of armaments and so far I know, there isn't a counter available

IMO its referring to meko a100 or a200 frigate/corvette hybrids with both AAW and AShW which are cost-effective compared to 1.7 billion lhd project. besides, israelis are getting 4 ships of undisclosed type for 1.4 billion $ from germany. most probably these are meko 200 frigates (i believe one meko 200 is around 320-360 million $). but then again, that alone won't be enough to counter AC group.

It amazes me how many of you are pushing for turning Israel into an enemy for no valid reasons regarding Turkish interests whatsoever.
