Undemocratic pins

Truth be told, there was a lot of creativity behind this sad invention. Using pins or needles placed on the shirt collar was a pretty creative technique found to ensure that the pompous Chinese military parades were flawless. After all, who would (literally) want to risk their neck during the Olympic Games' year? All for those perfect, syncronized movements. Like the old animal trainers, who would inflict painful punishments to bears and elephants that misbehaved, these young soldiers learn that anything goes, when it comes to attaining a perfect result. The only difference is that they. don't get any treat as a reward

Another ally of pins in military training is the wooden cross. It ensures that the back will , without a doubt, remain straight and elegant. When we realise that these soldiers obviously have to march, imagine a worse resistance test: neck pinned, crucified backs, and feet strongly and firmly pounding the floor. The pictures speak for themselves and will certainly make sure that China's People's Liberation Army doesn't win any gold medals these Olympic Games. Their way of training has no sporting spirit in the least.

If the PLA trains hard, it means that they're undemocratic

but if US navy seals train hard, it means they're badass.

you know what the difference is? democracy. democracy means US navy seals that die during their training, died for a reason. but PLA, if they even sweat, they're sweating for undemocratic cause, and is wrong.

I think its abit extreem. I would have expected this fron N.korea.

Agreed.

Basically anything China does is undemocratic. :disagree:

Lol these are training pics.......have you people not seen how the Spetsnaz trains? Or do you not know how our SSG trains? Its the military for God's sake not the pee wee baseball league or a weekend away on a holiday. Its their military and they know how to run it. Grow up please.....

Let's put this in prespective. It's a tiny, small pin. We have parades only once every 10 years. The soldiers who go to them want to be there. We have an all volunteer army. They could quit any time they want but they're still there. That speaks for itself.

ÓÐËÖªµÀ²Î¼Ó¹úÇìÔıøµÄÌõ¼þÊÇʲô_°Ù¶ÈÖªµÀ

If we had to force people to go, then why would we have extremely high standards?

"身高要求一米八零以上,体重八十公斤左右,还要求五官端正,目光有神等等。选拔的条件甚至超过飞行员,潜水员。 "

Our standards for selecting the soldiers who march are comparable to those for FIGHTER PILOTS and NAVY DIVERS. Obviously, selection means there are more volunteers than there are applicants, otherwise there would be no need to select.

it's like complaining about crawling under barbed wires

or smashing bricks over your head

it would look extreme to spectators but it's not even an issue to sweat about :coffee:

it's the military! these are people who are trained to kill you to defend their country. no pussies here.
