Bring an evidence to your claim that these verses are specific to the time when early battles were being fought and do not hold true any time after.

You can prove that these commandments were for the specific time only if

• There is a different statement in Quran, revealed after Sura 5:51
• Or bring an evidence where Allah says Jews and Christians who are on the right path should be made friend and allies
• Or from the Ahadith of Prophet Muhammad, bring an Ahadith which supports your argument of these versis to be limited to their time and nothing after that.

Quran doesn't ask you to be enemy of Jews or Christians for the sake of it. Quran doesn't ask you to not deal with them or isolate them or yourself from them. Commandments of Quran are clear, do not take them as your allies and that means battle-field allies. Not taking battle-field allies doesn't mean you automatically make them your battle-field foes. But in 5:51 Allah says and those who side with them are actually one of them. If you can bring an evidence of these verses being specific for the time-period when Prophet Muhammad PBUH was having wars with Jews and Christians then good but in case there is no evidence, your assumptions are flawed and against the stated meanings.

The single policy decision that would produce the most effective return for Pakistan is recognition of Isreal. Asides that I feel Pakistan has moral duty to recognize Isreal. Only then can it help in arranging some form form of understanding between Isreal/Palestine.
