Confirmed : PAF Negotiating For L-15 LIFT Aircrafts !

But the question is are we improving? Lessons should had been learnt from Naval PAF air base attacks but it wasn't as clearly Mianwali base got hit again and we lost assets though it is still debatable which assets were lost.
So if we are not improving that doesn't mean that we should not add new jets to PAF

. .
How many of L15B PAF planning to add? (in single digit?) The no. can barely justify training needs. Light attack / ground attack and other similar roles is practically out of debate.

. .
L.15 purchase news are actually true. On a side note, FCU with K.8's is being moved from Paf Mianwali to Paf Risalpur. Alot of merging of squadrons and re-equipment of squadrons actively going on at the moment.

The number will be rather closely linked to the number of J-10Cs, given the tight budgets, it makes sense to induct more L-15s when more J-10Cs arrive. You don’t want to end up in a situation where you have more L-15s than you need because J-10Cs are significantly more expensive and hence might arrive slower.

and what would be that number?

Pakistan maybe in negotiations for L-15 but those should not be coming to replace F-7PGs. F-7 P / Pgs are combat fighters (interceptors) whereas L-15 is dedicated LIFT. F-7 series replacement on role basis should be JF-17s.

Jeff bravo isn't a dedicated LIFT but a multirole combat aircraft with conversion training ability. However, Jeff bravo could have possibly reduced the need for a dedicated LIFT platform but not eliminated it completely.

if PAF is only looking for dedicated LIFT then off the shelf L-15 makes sense as the timelines and cost to develop a JF-17 bravo could be higher, That's just my opinion, don't know the actual cost of L-15 though.
Maybe PAF doesn't want JFT to get the tag of a "trainer" aircraft as its mainly a multirole is fighter aircraft, thus going for dedicated LIFT.

F16, F-15, Mig-29, SU30, Rafale etc had trainer variants, but not a LIFT variant.

If PAF is going for twin engine LIFT aircraft then it's clearly for future training of 5th gen pilots as it can simulate it and our 5th gen will be twin engine and possibly from China.
Which LIFT aircrafts were flown by US Pilots who later transitioned to F-22 ?

If it is true and indeed there is L15 - LIFT coming, it is definitely not coming as a replacement for the F7s. F7s will be replaced by JFs.

This acquisition must have been done to train pilot for more advanced, future acquisitions such as 5th Gen aircrafts. Or any other twin seater aircraft that might be in the acquisition plans. I don't know for sure if they are being acquired for J10Cs? But perhaps J10Cs are so different than other platforms that PAF felt making old pilots unlearn previous habits and adapt new is more difficult than training new pilots straight for J10s. It would be interesting to see if it comes with a radar and which radar? If it comes with a mini AESA, that makes sense for training. Either way, this aircraft is not for active air defense. It has 2 small engines good for 82 KN of thrust. PAF already has JF in that thrust category.

. .
The way things going, after 10-15 years, PAF=P(LA)AF.
PAF is not even evaluating non-chinese platforms via competitive process. The credit based purchases of Chinese hardware are driving the competitive acquisitions out.
Not by choice, as the previous head sepoy lamented to his western masters, you don't sell to us oh exhalted masters and we have no choice but to buy Chinese equipment.
