CII proposes husbands be allowed to ‘lightly beat’ defying wives

The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has proposed its own women protection bill, recommending ‘a light beating’ for the wife if she defies the husband.

Meantime people make a big deal about what women can't do, no one talks about the anti-male non-sense these guys have proposed. I have highlighted the things that are outright misandric in that they give privileges to women they do not to men.

How lightly beaten will be defined??
Beating with cloth rapped around stick so that there is no physical symptoms of taking a beat??

Sorry but you are deluded. In fact, you are the definition of an educated jahil.

Do you seriously expect people to beat their wives with a straw? The whole point of beating someone is for it to HURT.

You also hid the other half of your explanation, the bit where you tell us to beat the woman as required but just don't leave a mark. Don't obfuscate your true beliefs.

Where does Quran say you HAVE TO beat your wife? Nowhere, so why are you fighting to retain this option for some idiotic men? It's not a sin to choose not to beat.

In all your wisdom, you weren't able to discern the simple truth of the hadith you presented. Why can't the principal of being careful and gentle with women be CII's and your message?
i can only laugh at your stupidity, stubbornness and shallow understanding of islam.

There are many really good points mentioned here. Unfortunately, media pays more attention to what's negative, because they add some Mirch masla to sell it.

On the other hand, molvis want to stay on media so they just change the order of few points are already mentioned in their bill.

After 1-2 days we won't even see this topic on tv or anywhere else.

Motherhood, work and education and state laws are misogynist to the core
Why ban baby formulas? If we ban labour.intensive work for women our way of life gets threatened you know why cuz we are an agragarian society
role-of-women-in-pakistan-agriculture.jpg

Second how will women benifit from good teachers if co education is banned we all know most good math and physics teachers are men
It will essentially mean increased cost for unis which they will transfer on students

I think this is strictly an Islamic debate. This place, nor the members qualify to be debating on what is derived from Quran.
Moreover, nothing to take away from Indian members or non Muslims members, but I would urge the Mods to close this thread or bar comments from non Muslim members because it will never add any value to something they have no idea about

For reference the decision or suggestion of CII is (partly) based on Sura' Nis'a Verse 34 and without reading into the context it is totally unreasonable and irresponsible to be commenting on the judgement. We as a nation have gone so far from the Islamic teachings, having invested our youths to worldly matters and studies alone, that we have almost lost the right to comment on the Islamic rulings/matters.

May Allah guide us all.

You dont need Islamic knowledge to know that banning baby formulas and legalizing abuse is a bad idea

Whilst you will be thrown out of the conference on Chemistry for possessing the knowledge not beyond crammed periodic table, how convenient it is to be the judge on Islamic ruling while possessing no knowledge of the matter. And by the way just because it is something that looks like common matter doesn't mean it requires no knowledge of Islamic rulings and the context in which they are promulgated.

Again, neither you nor (me) and this place qualify to be a suitable ground for such a debate without running the risk of stepping into the boundary of blasphemy. The ruling if pasted plainly without the context might look odd but when read through in complete context will make sense to those who want to believe.

If a decision affects me or people around me than its my duty as a responsible citizen to express my opinion and reservations and so far to this date majority of their recommendations have been anti woman and anti poor

Beating the wife (even lightly) might sound controversial but the bill does have some good clauses.

Women rights should not be used as a pretext to spoil women and encourage them to shed their modesty. Unfortunately, Feminism is leading societies towards this destructive end.

Women rights advocates want you (as a man) to treat your wife good irrespective of how she behaves. This isn't how things work in real life. Some men have great tolerance and some don't. Some will attempt to address issues amicably and some will just lash out. You cannot prevent a man from being tough if its in his nature no matter what; putting him behind wars will only fuel his anger. If a relationship is not working, recommended course of action is to divorce rather then stay and tolerate abuse. Of-course, abusing someone is not the right course of action either.
