Chinese satellite reveals photos of US Nellis Air Force Base

A group of satellite images of the US Nellis Air Force Base was released Friday by Chinese company Chang Guang Satellite Technology on Weibo.

The imagery was shot by China's first commercial remote-sensing Jilin-1 satellites.

Nellis Air Force Base is a United States Air Force (USAF) installation in southern Nevada with military schools.

In this close-up photo, F-15, F-16 and A-10 fighter jets of can be clearly spotted.

Nellis Air Force Base, covering 4,600 hectors, has always been a mysterious place, as it gathers all the most advanced fighters in the USAF and its Area 51 was said to keep bodies of aliens.

The Jilin-1 satellites were manufactured by Chang Guang Satellite Technology and launched in October 2015.

The four satellites include two providing high-definition video, one for commercial high-definition images, and another for testing new space technology.

I have seen too many this kind of photos before. Which were all about other countries' military bases and shot by US satellites. Finally US got a revenge.

Man, one must say though that the US satellite images look like ultra HD images compared to these.

The last pic was too blurry, and the colors etc. weren't good.

The Russians have been looking down at u.s. military bases via satellites for many decades now.

So It's not like it's just US looking down from it's satellites on other military bases.

Quite frankly, I assumed that China was already doing the same exact thing.

I hope that those satellites find the Extraterrestrial technology hidden deep beneath the base.

So It's not like it's just US looking down from it's satellites on other military bases.

Quite frankly, I assumed that China was already doing the same exact thing.

I hope that those satellites find the Extraterrestrial technology hidden deep beneath the base.

They are not talking about looking down on bases. They are talking about releasing satellite images publicly, which US has been doing for long. Of course there is the added complexity that a lot of US operators of satellites are civilian, or civil-military.

We have a whole host of images from US about Chinese bases. In fact people all over the world track the building of China's aircraft carrier almost live due to images that keep flowing out.

I know that. But I never saw any satellite image from Russian source. Let me guess. Is it because their images were not as clear as US source images and unrecognizable for ordinary people? If so we don't feel like a revenge.

This is old news. All US military bases, including the mysterious Area 51, have been accessible via satellite imagery for decades. This thread is about giving the PDF Chinese another masturbatory avenue.

So basically you're saying this is just a purely hyper nationalist "pat on the back" pride type of thing then?

I honestly thought Chinese satellites had been looking down on bases for a few years now, and that this was nothing new.

Of course, I'd still like to know if they've managed to fully reverse- engineer the Extraterrestrial technology yet.

Highly doubtful those satellites will pick something like that up. I hope they do...

Yes you are correct that anyone can use Google Map to look at stationary pictures of a location. But you missed out on a few of important points:
- You can only see what Google lets you see
- The pictures you see are not the latest
- The Jilin sat also streams back live videos not just pictures

So I see the OP has more worthiness than your post.

Satellite is Satellite, you also need to know what you said about Google is also true on Jilin

- You can only see what Jilin lets you see
- The picture you see are not the latest (Yes they aren't)
- Google Satellite also streams back live video, not just picture. (Again, you have to pay for it)

We are debating the "Existence" of satellite, once you have a satellite, then nothing you do on the surface are of secret, yes, google may not allow everyday user access up to date information, but the problem is, do Jilin allow everyday user to do that too?

What the Chinese are doing with the satellite and what they can do with a satellite have no bearing on Posting these picture, just because other country that process satellite (such as Australia or Germany) does not post these photo regularly, does not mean their satellite cannot survey China or anywhere in the world, thus, WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS POST?

PS. I have US TS/SCI clearance, I had and STILL HAVE access to Keyhole satellite feed, I am not showing you that does not mean keyhole satellite does not exist.

These picture show China process Satellite, that's it.

What more does that mean other than that? China has been spying on US airbase? Aren't we supposedly know this because wasn't it what Satellite do?

Hence, what is the point for this thread? Can anyone tell me?
