None.

There is no best ally of China. Pakistan is the country Chinese feel most comfortable with because there is no history of confrontations or other issues that could create distrust, and China is the country Pakistanis can trust most for the same reasons. Yet, Pakistan is not strong enough to provide much help against a Western/NATO encirclement or containment of China. That's something Russia is better placed to do, but 'ego' and distrust comes along the way, so there is considerable ambivalence in that relationship. Russia and China are grudging partners, at best, but not allies. They do not trust each other, but they share common foes that they distrust even more.

North Korea at present is an unflinching ally but from Chinese perspective this regime probably serves as a useful buffer zone between an American military outpost and Chinese border.

Relations with other countries are officially friendly but nothing that China could count on in times of crisis.

North Korea. China fought their war in Korean war and lost thousands of lives(forget about huge loss of assets). And where were China when we divided Pakistan in two pieces or in kargil war.

& why should they do that ? for everything there is a time & a place when it came China did in fact offered a joint "sino-pak" assault on India ,it was none other then that good for nothing ayub khan who betrayed us ( & history will never forgive him for this )

In 1962, a territorial differences increased between India and People's Republic of China, the Beijing was planning to stage an invasion in northern territories of India. Zhou Enlai, Chinese Premier and Mao Zedong invited Pakistan to join the raid and extricate the rest of Indian-held Kashmir from Indian control.[19] Bhutto advocated for the plan, but President Ayub Khan oppose to plan he was feared of retreat by Indian troops.[19] Instead Ayub Khan proposed a "joint defence union" with India,Bhutto was shocked by such statement and felt Ayub Khan was unlettered in international affairs

China did more then enough for which Pakistan will always be grateful China did its part it was we who had that India loving traitor among us (ayub khan), so its only fair that China did not intervene back then

LOOK CAREFULLY...

PAkistanis praising Russia  ....winds seems to be flowing in opposite direction

When you start taking the piss out of China's space walk (and our various other acomplishments) and say that they are "fake"... then yes, it is a problem.
But not on topic for this thread.
Indians trouble you understanable
Americans you dont like them fine
BUT NOW EVEN SOME PAKISTANIS ARE TROUBLING YOU DAMN !!!!!

Well nk for me birds of same feather flocks together

China doesn't have any true allies. China is powerful and clever enough to have pawns. Pakistan is China's pawn. China will fight India to the last Pakistani.

but about Iran-China relation....Iran has the fastest science growth in the world and by 2025 Iran will be in top 4 countries in case of science and technology.

so dont you think alliance between a major science power and a major economy power will be benefit both Iran and China?

Absolutely yes.

Pakistan is stronger than you think, they are the leader of the Muslim world? Only Muslim country that is also a nuclear power.

Pakistan has openly supported China on so many issues in the past 40 years. I seriously can't remember a country did that for China other than Pakistan.

China openly support Pakistan Nuclear projects. China will never do the same with North Korea.
I think Iran #2, (they are also our 2nd largest oil supply) Cambodia #3, North Korea would be #4 maybe.

if we had a friend as reliable as pakistan in the korean peninsular, china would have a far superior hand in northeast asia and could move far more aggressively. and if pakistan were really that close to china's industrial and demographic heartland, china would send millions and millions of troops to its aid each time indians set foot on pakistan.

BUT, if pakistan and north korea switched locations, then china would probably have the same fraught and low-trust relations with pakistan today. if pakistan were in northeast asia, it would face a far inferior south korean military, and there would be less dependency and more hostility between pakistan and china. at that point, china may well buy south korea out and become pakistan's arch-enemy, no?

so i say, the big question this poll poses can be better formulated (which is why i haven't voted and don't plan to). pakistan and china should be happy with the relationship they currently have, along with all its benefits and limits (and both leadership indeed are very content with it). korea is simply better positioned to receive direct military aid frm china in the event of an open conflict, whereas it is far more difficult logistically for chinese military to intervene in kashmir. but in the peninsular, china seeks to recover its political dominance (which causes fear from south koreans and north koreans) whereas in the subcontinent china only wants to preserve pakistan's independence, so sino-pakistan relationship witnesses a completely perfect alignment of strategic interests that doesn't happen with china and north korea.

to be in pakistan's position is to have china's unlimited trust and unconditional technological and political support; to be in korea's position is to have china's permanent distrust (how many times china screwed north korea over military hardware, nuclear issues and diplomatic issues with south korea, and how many times north koreans sought to screw us!) but also to be able to count on quick, massive and direct military protection if north korea were to be overwhelmed in a war.

to appreciate the unfathomable depth of trust and confidence between china and pakistan (which is only a function of the complete identical strategic interests the two nations share), one must appreciate the geography that that gives rise to the mutual trust but also also limits the scope of military intervention china can ever try in south asia. What chinese and pakistanis have between us is truly the very best both sides can hope for.

about Iran-Pak relation ......well,they have selected PGCC as their ally.so Iran-Pak close relation is not evailable in near future.

It depends. When ever we have a Sunni President, our relations with GCC is high. We have had Shias in the govt like Bhuttos in the past. They completely changed the direction of the wind. Presently, Asif Ali Zardari is a Shia. I think we are seeing rapid improvement in Pak-Iran relations day by day because of this....

like you i do believe that the relation between China and Iran is not at its best as far as China (like russia) didnt veto the UN sanctions on Iran.and it ruined our publicity's image about China.anyway China has the better image than russian's one.because China has continued importing oil from Iran despite west and zionists pressure.
about Iran-russia relation... i have to say.....its already f....ed up.like China they didnt veto UN sanctions on Iran and also they didnt sale S-300 advanced air defence system.no need to even say all russian tech are belong to soveit era and they have very slow science growth.so i can say Iran doesnt need russia anymore.

1) Russia-Iranian relation must last. China relies on global supply chains for its sweatshop exports and Saudi oil. The Chinese bend nearly every time America makes a demand. Russia on the other hand is one of the few self-efficient nations in the world, and remains the world's #2 military power.

Most Chinese weaponry, even to this day, still use imported, stolen or copied core Russian technology. Unlike China, Russia does not bend.

2) Iran is no where near a science or technology power. The country does not even have the capacity to refine its own crude into gasoline. The last time China exported refiners to Iran, the US demanded for that to stop, and stop they did. The Chinese will land a man on the moon, launch ICBMs which can reach anywhere in the world, #2 in Olympic medals, produce 5th generation jets -- achievements that Iran can only dream of.

3) The Chinese will also surpass Iran in per capita GDP in 2 years. The average Chinese will be significantly wealthier than the average Iranian. China surpasses Iran in every index from science to technology, education to infrastructure, collective to individual. The only thing Iran can offer is oil, most of which must be shipped by containers through the Indian Ocean, hardly a safe energy source for China.

4) The ideal Chinese ally is one which can bolster its claims to the South China seabed, -- its only possible major source of secured energy resource. Iran is not remotely near the region geographically, nor does it have the naval presence. As such it will forever remain a card which the Chinese will discard when the Americans are politically committed enough to cut a deal with the Communist state.

its not like in the war time, it is all about feel more comfort and friendly towards which country
