China's navy no longer so inferior to Japan's, experts say

Like I always said, "word of encouragements" are for US's allies to hear but it doesn't have any meaning. The US, like any smart businessperson, will analyze the risk and the cost. If the cost is low, they will engage to defend Japan. If the cost is too high (high is when American lives are at risk), then they will say good luck to Japan.

We will only know for sure when that day comes

I do believe what we were doing recently is to test the US response. It makes sense to all of us. Time is on China side and as we are growing stronger, the US will have less reason to engage with China militarily. Then the Security Alliance will break and the US will simply collaborate with China meanwhile still having their geopolitical footprint in the Mediterranean and Atlantic. In the future, I see Japan has only two choices, join China's led Asia or form its own alliance in Asia with Vietnam, Philippines, and Australia.

I really hate to say this but India plays a very big role in this hypothetical WWIII. India is the x-factor in the West vs East's WWIII. If India sides with the East, then Muslim's Sunni will join the West and Shia will join the East. If India sides with the West, then Sunni will join the East and Shia will join the West. If India stays neutral, then she will end up with Russia as the lone superpower post-WWIII.

Please explain why India is X factor that change Muslim's side?

Pakistan is a Muslim state that in dispute with India over Kashmir which we know the Arab Muslim support Pakistan.

We base our training regimen with comparative training modules with USAF, and key partners such as RAF. Japan may have not fought any wars since WWII , but we have maintained an extensive training regimen for all segments of the Defense Force. I can say that we hold our standard even higher than some of our partners. In regards to the Chinese counterpart, I am sure they are doing the best that they can. Which should be applauded.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the JSDF is very well trained but just because you train with NATO countries, doesn't necessarily mean your level of training is better than China's. You don't have access to PLA's training protocols and strategic planning, so to say China is inferior in this department holds no substance. PLA could be the same level, worse or better, but how would anyone know, without having full access to both sides.

USA and Western training isn't all that great. Remember, these are the same militaries that have bungled and lost countless conflicts, since the end of WW2. Westerners like to have the biggest and best guns, because maybe they don't trust themselves to win in a fair fight with a peer enemy. They use their hi-tech toys to push around minnows and weakling nations but yet still get those nose bloodied. If Japan look up to Western training as the pinnacle of military prowess, then you might be surprised that it ain't that great, against a well-equipped and determined adversary, like China.

I no doubt believe that the Chinese military personnel are capable in their own right. As one who served in the armed forces, I have respect for them (for all military people, in fact) as they serve with distinction and honor for their esteemed nation.

Muslims don't even form 2% of Indian army. Arabs don't care about India or Pakistanis. They only care about their own profit. So they will support India over Pakistan.

If India takes part in ww3, it will be the biggest loser. No matter the outcome.

China Navy is doing much better and improving fast with latest technology, Japan is declined.

Japanese military is full of outdated junk. Most of their Navy is frigates and only 6 Aegis type destroyers. That's laughable.

Japanese military would get crushed by North Korea.

By 2020, those 4 Kongo Class DDGs will become quite obsoleted.

This chart is not accurate at all, since we have by far more than 5 nuclear subs, and let's try 15 instead of 5.

Okay, how many destroyers currently China have now? Just 24?
