Dear every body knows Euro fighter typhoon is more capable than F22 raptor in dogfights..... While french made Rafale is more capable than raptor in ground targets....

Genius, outside of the Indo-Pak scenario, the world has gone away from the "dog fighting". Almost all other conflicts between the West and anyone else will happen over a distance so the name of the game is BVR now.

The -22 is a "squadron killer", its not meant to dog fight anyone. Each plane should take out half the squadron or 6-8 of its opponents without getting detected or getting closer to the enemy. YET, the -22 will have a long range map and situational awareness of the conflict zone from distance as far as 300-400 miles.

How difficult to detect and then take out the -22 with the RSS of less than a DIME. So one billion worth -22's (estimated 5 of these), flying will have less than 3% chance of getting detected (let alone locked on). 90% of these planes will come back fine, but if you lose one for 200 million, what's the cost of that to the enemy? It's 6*5 potential enemy jets destroyed, means you took out 30 of the enemy jets.

Modern jets are usually around 35-60 million USD on the lower end, you crippled an enemy's ability to fight you and you took out about 1.5 to 2 squadrons of your enemy's air force. About 3 of these missions and your enemy will end the war, instead of seeing its air force getting annihilated.

5th generation fighters like j 20 & 31 are really very costly to build and much more costly to maintain.....

They require up to 30 hours of maintenance for an average 1 hour flight...

Even a single scratch can demolish stealth feature of the jet.....

Any minor change in the outline could be prove fetal ...

So PLAAF should concentrate more on 4.5th generation boys which are extremely capable , easy and cheap to maintain and very affective on the dogfights and ground targets...

Further they should concentrate more on their projects for 6th generation fighters so that they can develop before US lokheed martin and northrop and Russia's sukhoi....

What is the difference between the J-11BH and the standard J-11B ? I know the J-11BH is for naval use but what is the physical difference between the two planes if there is any.
