I do not claim that China is better than the West in this case.

As it has little to do with the quality of education, it has more to do with politics and soft power.

Foreign students have poor skills, no effort, low quality, lack of ethics... Everything doesn't matter. As long as they accept to study in China, Chinese universities will kneel, call them dad, provide them with scholarships, money and Chinese girls.

Because Chinese colleges want to have a high score in the stupid ranking. "Internationalization" is one of standards

Well, that's not about poltics and soft power. This is about how you sell your education system.

What you said about Chinese University, that same thing happened to Western University, especially now woke reign Supreme, there are bound to scholarship for POC regardless whether or not they deserve it.

As I said, I don't really care about University Ranking. and that's a lot as I went to world number 37. The problem as far as I can see is universities, regardless of ranking is too commercialise, they look at money more than education. If I was ever Prime Minister of Australia, i would ban or cap international student intake, and have the local college accept local student as priority, in reality, it's more than 50% foreign student for most Western University because that where the money is.

I am just saying pulling source said China is gaining ground on "Top 2000" is really pointless. again, there is a limit of how many top whatever I can involve in, when you reach Top 2000 level, that's kind of defeating the point of making a "Top" list. Don't you think??

Now there are a lot of black, middle eastern and south Asian students studying in China. Many of them receive full scholarships. Foreign citizenship is the fastest and most efficient way to get into top universities like Beijing or Tsinghua

There's also crap tons of International students where Im from. There's a shy new zealand kid that cover her head during the first day. Heck I have a german professor which have the last name I sh1T you not "Jitler"

But china problems isn't attracting foreign students is keeping them as researcher. To do that you need a complete total overhaul of how chinese universities work. Which means transparency among other things.

Well, the article you quote is about Top 2000.......Unless you don't meant to quote that article, otherwise by quoting it, you are mentioning the list in question, that's the same as you say it.

On the other hand, so what Chinese university can produce more and more quality science and research paper?? Does that make your college quality better? How about teacher to student ratio? How about resource management? how about giving your student different discipline? How about the qualifications of the teachers??

I wrote research paper myself, I have a MPhil. Everyone can write research paper, and when you are in a level you have to write research paper, you have to write quality material, I mean, tell me, who in Post Graduate level would wrote non-quality research papers? You aren't going to get your degree that way.....

I don't understand why these "STEM" research reign supreme mentality you people are having, I mean university is more than just STEM research. And unlike what more US TV show think, it's not about drinking and partying and having sex either, you go there to learn, and that not just about STEM and not just about writing paper. If that is the thing you people focus on, no wonder there are only 4 Chinese university in Top 50.
