China trounces U.S. in AI research output and quality

Fools who think ChatGBT is the pinnacle and the leading edge of AI research and technology need to have their heads examined.

What Chinese generative AI are as capable as ChatGPT? ChatGPT has taken the AI and tech world by storm the last couple months. Cope some more

Rumman Chowdhury, who led Twitter’s machine-learning ethics team until Elon Musk disbanded it in November, said she expects companies like Google to increasingly sideline internal critics and ethicists as they scramble to catch up with OpenAI.

“We thought it was going to be China pushing the U.S., but looks like it’s start-ups,” she said.

that's just the thing, 8k employees and 2 billion dollars and they have jack shit to show for it. It just shows you how backwards and useless government contractors are.

I looked their job posting and services. It looks like their tech is still stuck in 2008. With the salary they are willing to pay, this company is probably full of old dinosaurs who can't keep up with the latest tech and are just looking for a place to retire.
Well, maybe you should talk to them, not me, I am not hiring anyone.

And then maybe you should start talking about it when you have a 2 billion worth company with 8000+ employee. That's probably what they will say to you if you tell them that.

haha no. I make 3 times the amount they are willing to pay.

Why not 8? 10?, i mean there are no way we can verify that.

But they do have 8000+ employee and 2 billion revenues.

So......

up to you to believe or not. but 8k employees and only 2 billion revenue sounds awful. Complete against the leading tech companies in the space, it's basically nothing.

but if it sounds good to you maybe you should apply. I doubt there's they can fill their headcount. Take a coursera course on Machine Learning and practice leetcode coding questions.

lol, why would I applies? I have TS/SCI clearance, I am an experienced Military Intelligence Officer have experience and knowledge on both CIA and NSA operation domestic and aboard, as well as DIA/Mil Spec intelligence apparatus (as in FM), I am trained on NAFv4, on top of that, I was also a Senior Police Officer with decade of LEO background, do you know how much firm like KBR, DynCorp or Aegis would pay for my service??

On the other hand, even top-notch private intelligence service like KBR only ever is a 7 billion revenue, of course it's peanuts if you compare it to Microsoft or Sun or whatever top-notch IT firm, yes, maybe that's peanuts, but still unless you get to that level, otherwise you really shouldn't crap on that. It's not like you own one of Fortune 500 company.

oh? how much do you get paid then? And no, your original statement that this MITER or whatever corp is somehow a leader in AI is laughable. I who work in this field has never heard of them and the true leaders in AI has revenue and valuations that are 100x what this crappy government contractor. And these leaders in AI(in the US) are built on top of H1B engineers from China and India.

Chinese always talk about numbers.

OpenAI is only a 400 men private company and created ChatGPT based on GPT 3.5 and soon GPT 4 will be released, they are far better than anything China has ever created.

And you think the real deal AI are available to the public?

Dude, I think you check most professional hiring site. You should know.

A Risk Factor/Assessment specialist would be earning around $48,000 a month, slightly over 500k a year before benefits (cars, end of year bonus, private plane), but I don't do PMC/PIC, I only do government job, because I love my balls and I want to keep them, working for government you will have what we called in the field an "Official Cover" you have diplomatic immunity, the worse they can do if you blow it is they ask you to leave the country, working PMC and PIC don't have official cover, they can just arrest you and send you to jail like a common criminal or more commonly at the work place I would most likely work at, they will simply cut off your balls on a Facebook live stream and then send it to your wife EMS. .

In this case, the government General Schedule paygrade (GS-13) as a senior special agent. Which earn around 87,000 a year.

Again, you can call Mitre a nobody all you want, I have no objection on that, just that it probably kind of rude to call a 2 billion revenue company a nobody, but hey, that's you.

Chinese search giant Baidu defends AI research capabilities after its ChatGPT-like Ernie Bot draws a turkey for Turkey

  • One influencer posted several AI-generated images, asking if Baidu simply translated the Chinese into English and used foreign image generators
  • By Thursday noon, Ernie Bot could differentiate a crane bird from the machine, and did not mix up turkey and the country

Chinese tech giant Baidu, which last week launched its ChatGPT alternative Ernie Bot, said on Thursday that the product was “totally self-developed” after some users expressed concerns that the company may have copied its chatbot’s text-to-image capability from overseas.

Hilarious images generated by the Ernie Bot started to surface online earlier this week, as users found the chatbot drew a turkey, the bird, when asked for the country Turkey, and a crane - the bird - instead of the machine used for lifting heavy objects. These images were generated in spite of the Chinese-language prompts and use of completely different characters for each word.

Art influencer Liu Dake posted several of the artificial intelligence-generated images on Wednesday night, questioning if the Baidu product simply “translated the Chinese prompt into English and put it in foreign image generators like "Stable Diffusion”.

He also said Ernie Bot would by default create a white person if nationality was not specified.

Chinese AI is already biasing towards the white man

US has Bard as well now. Let’s see concrete things….
