China/Pakistan/India - Was Nehru smarter than Modi?

.
My mistake, read it wrong.

And you missed the last part of my post:

My only "claim" on that point was quoting Reuters, who quoted India's own officials.

"(Reuters) - However, military officers in both countries and officials in New Delhi say the violence that has killed nearly 20 civilians escalated because of a more assertive Indian posture under the new government of nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

Modi's bravado ups the ante in India-Pakistan fighting | Reuters

Indian officials and Pakistani officials both agree that the violence on the border escalated because of Modi's "new assertive posture".

As for the rest, I quoted from India's own internal military report, the Henderson-Brooks report:

It wasn't China, but Nehru who declared 1962 war - The Times of India

Violence escalated not started. Because previously Indian side had to wait for govt or mostly just bite the bullet.
What is wrong with replying a bullet with bullet, how is Modi wrong? Your post insinuates as if Modi is being aggressive, which he is not. You post:

Is this new attitude the start of a new Forward Policy.... by Modi instead of Nehru?

Source: China/Pakistan/India - Was Nehru smarter than Modi?

Even at LAC, Modi raised the issue to your premier, opened it to media. Where is he wrong? Or you think that India should behave meekly and get bullied?

The commonality here is poorly drawn British lines, and by poorly drawn I mean they break, due to having no truly dominant demographic majority, leading to infighting between the various large demographic groups. And those lines have broken already.

The British caused a lot of mess but so did the Manchus. No?

If one looks at which one caused more bloodshed in the aftermath, the Manchu dominated Qing dynasty wins hands down.

You have at least three Han majority countries already and no one knows how many will be in future.

Tibet and Islamic Xinjiang are a mess. There are enough fault lines in China but most of them are not in the buffer regions.

If China breaks it will be due to the coastal Vs. interior, North Vs. South issues like it has been earlier.

Pakistan should at least attempt to take Kashmir.

News for you. You have been trying for 67 years and have become less than half in the process.

Even removing "West" from your name doesn't take that away. Trying more has already led you to where you are and the future looks ever more interesting fn one looks at some foreign policy magazine chart.

Looks like you have no fresh ideas. ;)

One thing is for sure, if Pakistan goes down, the Generals in HQ wouldn't mind taking India down along with us.

The generals (and you folks) should know what else will go down if they try that.

You are not the only ones with options. If you knew where the first two of our nukes will be headed, the generals may suddenly start "minding". ;)

The subcontinent is not the only one going down if they ever get too big for their boots and try that. They should know what else to their West will go down as well.

I know most "Ashrafs" don't give a damn to Pakistan or the subcontinent. They should know their homelands will be smoking and radiating hellish infernos for a very long time.

Who thinks this thread reminds one of the famous Sanskrit shloka:

उष्ट्रानां विवाहेशु गीतो गायंति गार्धभानि
परस्परं प्रशंसयंते , अहो रूपं अहो ध्वनि

Can be read as : Ushtranam vivaheshu gito gayanti gardhabani. Parasparam prashansayante, aho rupam, aho dhvani !!!!

Translation : Its Camel’s wedding ceremony and Donkeys are singing. They appreciate each other ” wow.. how melodious!!!!! ” and “wow… how beautiful !!!!” !!

Great. :D

Though interestingly enough, I've never seen a camel before in my life. I've traveled pretty much everywhere except the Middle East and South Asia, I don't know where else they might be.

There are over a billion Muslims. You are limited to one Subcontinent. Its best to stay in your limits. As I said, any misadventure by Mr tough guy Modi will back fire with him hiding in a bunker while his country fries. All this talk of fire is making me hungry for a steak.:D

Well, I have been to both these two places . ;)

What is missing for me is Australia, South America and some parts of East Asia. I hope not for long though.

I believe camels are found in Africa as well. In fact, in Africa they have camels with two humps.

Well, one thing is for sure. All the preparation for Kashmir has actually meant trouble for Shia and Ahmedis. ;)

Don't worry about us. We don't have anything to do with Pakistan or Islam. We just respond to provocations in a language that seems to be the only one to be understood.

Modi (or his supporters, I being one of them) don't want to have anything to do with Pakistan except manage the nuisance when needed.

All this bravado so soon after Gaza and all that is happening in Pakistan, Syria, Iraq....!

You guys are fun. ;)

There are over a billion Muslims.

I will reduce that by one if you included yourself in that number. ;)

Your own national assembly has passed a resolution to that effect and every Paksitani has to swear that you are not a Muslim and your worship place can't be called a mosque.

Oh come on now, admit you guys love us. That's why you guys are all over the social network and on Pakistani forums.:D

Modi's first priority should be to manage India. I feel he is playing classic South Asian politics. Talk of war to take attention from domestic issues. We are all too familiar with that. Even Nawaz Sharif is turning out be a smarter politician than Mr Modi.

You expect me to hate Pakistan for this? It was fault of the extremist bunch. Nothing lasts for ever, sooner or later these silly laws will hopefully be abolished.

There are a few 10s of active Indian members here I would guess. We have more than 200 million net users.

I will let you work out the maths.

There is no talk of war in India. You may believe what you need to. We all saw it for what it was, a dog and pony show to "internationalize Kashmir" that has fizzled out along expected lines.

It was always meant for domestic audiences in any case.

No. I just want you to reduce the number one from one billion. ;)

I believe it was passed with full support of the house.

And also I believe (from what I have read somewhere) that it was after the Ahmedi leader declared all the non-Ahmedi Muslims as kaffirs in the national assembly where he was called to provide testimony (was it also wajib-ul-qatl?).

Sorry we see India through your media. All I saw was talk of mu tor jawaab. I still don't see any mu tor jawaab. Mu tor jawaab.

You too read Mullah's propaganda?:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Whatever jawab was given seems to have worked. Things are back to "normal". ;)

Well, no reason to disbelieve if it was a fact.

If some of the others accuse Shia and Ahmedi of munafiqat (hypocrisy), I can see in this thread why they would do that. ;)

This is the 1000th time you are quoting this, who told you what Henderson-Brooks report says? We didn't make it public, that's our internal report. What a biased Australian journalist claims means nothing. Plenty of foreign journalists also claim that thousands of students were killed by genocidal communist government of China at Tienanmen Square, do you agree?

My only "claim" on that point was quoting Reuters, who quoted India's own officials.

What is the "Status quo" that India changed?

That China will continue to nibble away our territory slowly and India will just sit tight and let it go?

That Pakistan will keep keeling our soldiers and civilians at frequent intervals & continue to send terrorists in our country and India will not respond in kind and just hold talks?

To hell with such status quo, we have a right to defend our sovereignity and we will continue to do so, get used to it.

As I said earlier, you have a choice to act as a responsible neighbour and end this incursion business, you will be rewarded with great business & investment opportunities, or you can continue with your provocations, and you will get non-cooperation and frustration in return.

Well you guys have the 2nd largest Muslim population in the world (soon to be number 1 largest Muslim population in the world), so shouldn't it be you guys going to fight for the "Ummah"? Like all those Indians now in Syria?

We'll stay out of that BS. We have zero demographic concerns, since the percentage population of minorities is so low, and their population growth rates are stable (partly due to government policy), so even in 10-20 years their percentage of the population will be the same, or even shrink.

India is long past that bridge, they are already fighting for the position of the number 1 largest Muslim population in the world.

No, that is very likely the future of India.

Partition happened before, and India has the 2nd largest Muslim population in the world. When they become even bigger, due to their soaring growth rates, tell me you see a future in which there is no risk of them asking for (and getting) Sharia laws, and eventually Partition.

Colonial British drawn lines are collapsing all over the world, in Sudan/Syria/Iraq. And that's just the present day, India already went through it in 1947.

Oh you are some Muslim hater!!! Are all Chinese Muslim haters like you? No wonder terrible things are happening to ordinary people of Xinjiang. Stop generalizing all Muslims, especially Indian Muslims. You are painting a significant part of the Indians as traitors in last few pages, just because they are Muslims.
