China needs 'three aircraft carriers': General

Can you explain as to how building 3 aircraft carriers is equal to economic growth ?

Can you please comment as to how Indians are wasting money ?

Because your Navy doesn't need that much Aircraft Carriers and also you don't have great protection system in place for these aircraft carriers

I thought your trolling was restricted to religious threads. Could you enlighten us with a detailed explanation of this statement?

Look like they need to make sure the catapult technology works on the first indigenous carrier, and it if fails they still have the ski jump.

Are they trying out an EM cat. yet? And any info on whether the carriers are conventional/nuclear/mixed?

According to Daokou(military officer), the third carrier will be nuclear, mostly likely a CATOBAR/STOBAR mixture like the Ulyanovsk class supercarrier.

According to SPEED(insider from CJDBY), the fourth carrier will be nuclear EMALS.

Indigenous carrier 1: modernized Varyag in Dalian

Indigenous carrier 2: conventional CATOBAR in Shanghai

Indigenous carrier 3: nuclear CATOBAR/STOBAR in Dalian

Indigenous carrier 4: nuclear EMALS in Shanghai

The indigenous carriers 1 & 2 are pratically confirmed, 3 & 4 are the leaked rumors from some insiders.

Since there is already an EMALS testing field located in Shanghai. BTW, you can find it on the Google Earth.

It seems that Dalian will not build the flat top EMALS carrier until the EM cat technology is completely mature. They have just repeated the same pattern with the case of Type 051C/052C.

according to your thug theory, then indian navy can be totally classified as non-exist. canada simple doesn't have a navy, australia will never have a navy. because these countries can't build the engine on its own.

就你这个智商,国内混不下去了,去加国避难的料,傻人一个还真以为自己是个东西了?狗杂碎而已

thank god mods banned this POS my eyes could not handle another one of his BS posts which ever mod banned him i have to say about damn time!

can someone explain what is difference between CATOBAR and STOBAR and which one is better?

Sir Carrier have a complete squad of Frigates and other Boats and Missile Systems to protect them from the enemy attack but your ships and missiles are not that capable and by looking at the size of your Navy you don't need 3 Aircraft carriers

Why would we need them now? Plans for future are already there. There are around 4-5 new destroyers being constructed right now(Kolkata Class) as well as fast Missile boats and Frigates. Missile systems are already in place with a combination of Bramhos, Barack and the russian mix of missiles. Not to mention the subs that are being inducted as well as talks to get amphibious ships and additional frigates of foreign make. These will be inducted well before the aircraft carriers.

CATOBAR (Catapult Assisted Take Off But Arrested Recovery) is a system used for the launch and recovery of aircraft from the deck of an aircraft carrier. Under this technique, aircraft launch using a catapult assisted take off and land on the ship (the recovery phase) using arrestor wires. Although this system is more costly than alternative methods, it provides greater flexibility in carrier operations, since it allows the vessel to support conventional aircraft.

STOBAR (short take off but arrested recovery) is a system used for the launch and recovery of aircraft from the deck of an aircraft carrier, combining elements of both STOVL (Short Take Off and Vertical Landing.) and CATOBAR (Catapult Assisted Take Off But Arrested Recovery). Aircraft launch under their own power using a ski-jump to assist take-off (rather than using a catapult like most carriers). However, these are conventional, rather than STOVL aircraft, and thus require arrestor wires to land on the ship. The Russian Navy aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov is the only current example of a STOBAR carrier, another will be the Indian Vikramaditya (formerly the Soviet carrier Admiral Gorshkov) and the future Vikrant class aircraft carrier.

The STOBAR system is simpler to build than CATOBAR — but it works only with light, and lightly armed, fighter aircraft that have a high thrust to weight ratio.

looks like a supercarrier is the nuclear powered aircraft carrier made by china we've been hearing about?

Photoshop Image. This kind of AC was planned in 50's also. But didn't worked out. it won't work as chance of accident will be high due to 2 hull.

Kolkata with Barack missile is a point defence system. India desperate need a Aegis class destroy with area defense capability to protect its carrier fleet against a modern adversary.
