BEIJING - China hopes to solve frontier disputes with India through friendly negotiation, the foreign ministry spokesman said Friday.

Spokesman Hong Lei made the comments at his regular press briefing when asked about Sino-Indian boundary issues and bilateral relations. He said that the border area has been maintained peacefully and remained stable.

China and India both want to use friendly negotiation when resolving boundary issues, according to Hong. Meetings between special representatives have been positive, he said.

"China develops in a peaceful way wholeheartedly, and hopes to maintain a friendly and cooperative relationship with India. China wishes to settle boundary issues through negotiation wholeheartedly," Hong said.

Hong said to create a brighter future in Sino-Indian relations, the two countries needed to strengthen mutual trust

Thats great both countries should come on the table and solve the issue.

Not words but rather the actions of chinese on ground will determine their seriousness in resolving issues. untill then.......:coffee::pop:

Indian shall respect China's concern regarding SCS and Diaoyu Island, especially the Tibetan seperation problem. We shall sit and talk immediately.

.
one thing: China good relation with Pak, but not means China want to against India, your enemy's frind not means your enemy. and I don't think Pak and India will have big war future, and if without terrorist attacking in Mumbai, may be Pak, India.........

second thing: China update infrastructure in Tibet or other place, not means army purpose, or to against anyone, for

EG, 1. and 90% villages road links in Xinjiang during the past 5 years,
High way in Xinjiang

2. yestoday night, I called home every sunday, father told me, my village will expand the road;
about 400 villagers in my village of Shandong province, former road only linked every village and main street of every village, but the new road will link every house and alley, capillaries road

all the country is updating the infrastructure, so boundary place is backward in infrastructure, update them a normal thing not against any one and not many army purpose

The point is if we respect your claim, which we want to do, then we are going against our friends Vietnam and Japan.. And at the same time, China doesn't respect our claim on Kashmir, tell me how is it possible to respect you when you don't respect us ???
.
So simple solution is, give proper visa to kashmiri and Arunchal pradesh people and India might just consider to think about it..

On ground (border) also there is peace. Its not Pakistan where from east to west there is border tension. Pakistan should learn from India China regarding solving border dispute.

India have no point in SCS until unless china do something provocative in indian ocean or in kashmir.

In other words,China must understand to exclude paksitani concerns while dealing with india otherwise these small countries will make us collide. We 2 have 3 billion people and we cant manage to kill those due to others...

Regarding to Tibet--china needs to bit flexible about it,like let the tibetans go in their homeland and gives them some power under chinese supervision...it will solve problem otherwise tibet card is like red card to chinese in the hands of the west.

Border disputes can be managed through by accepting the present borders as IB.

. . . .
ok, one thing is one thing, back to the topic, if we input every in one one pot, we can't cook one dish; so we'd better not mix too many things together, if that we solve nothing

Please note that India's position alwayshas been that Tibet is under the suzerainty of China. Since China chose to convert this position to one of outright sovereignty, India accepts Tibet as an integral part of China, irrespective of how the change came about.

The Dalai Lama and his fellow Tibetan refugees, who are sadly growing through the years, are a completely different issue. No Indian government wishes to see them forcibly returned to face bullets and firing squads. A settlement between HH and the PRC would be a huge relief for India, taking us out of the middle of the dispute.
