China denies visa to top general in Indian Occupied Kashmir

Stellar first post. The Nobel peace prize is a less meaningful prize than the Kinder surprise toys I got as a kid. The DL joins the exalted ranks of people like Yasser Arafat, Kissinger, Al Gore and Lu Duc Tho. Though to Lu Duc Tho's credit, he thought it was a joke too and turned it down.

I, and I think most probably every sensible human being, would join the company of these globally acknowledged people of wisdom any given day rather than joining the maoists.

then why the furious and huff & puff reaction from new dilly (and even the hindustanys on this forum?)

:lol

So you actually suggest that we should solve Kashmir to get access to Chinese visas....LOL

Sorry but unlike some of our neighbors, our foreign policy does not revolve around bending over for the Chinese.....

The GOI defines Indian priorities....not some pinch to get attention from the CPC

please elaborate? I don't see any ''indians'' :-)lol::rolleyes:) protesting against Pakistani military 'presence' :woot:

I uses the word....'Indian terrirtories'....not Indians....The diluted population of Pakistan occupied Kashmir will be rightfully sent back to their homeland

Learn to read dear TT

the people inside and outside Pakistan are doing a fantastic job of raising/donating money for their countrymen

it's unfortunate that you need to go off-topic to ATTEMPT to raise a point.....a point that has little or nothing to do with what is being discussed here.

alas!

Well....since you were on a roll about the advantages of solving the Kashmir issue.....(namely Indians getting Chinese visas)....I decided to point out another important result of the same.....

except mine seems to be a more pressing need for your country as opposed to an Indian General getting a Chinese Visa which you seem to suggest is a life or death situation....

LOL!

mmmm so China also has the right to give shelter to Indian Maoist leaders as they are also NOT terrorists

What an asinine comparison.....

The day the Dalai Lama picks up arms....MAYBE you can compare him to the Maoists.....
Unless you're suggesting that the Maoists are mere monks.....by that standard....Im sure you think the Talibs burning your country are Imams too....LOL!!!

According to JANA, NOBEL PEACE PRIZE WINNER DALAI LAMA = MAOISTS  So much for journalism!:bounce:

Visa row: India reads out riot act to Chinese envoy

NEW DELHI: India summoned the Chinese ambassador on Friday and has refused to allow visits of two Chinese military officials to protest against Beijing's refusal of a visa to a general in the Indian Army.

The discussion came after India, as reported by TOI on Friday, cancelled defence exchanges to protest against China refusing to allow the visit of an Indian Army general on the ground that his jurisdiction included "disputed" J&K. In a tit-for-tat response, India refused to allow the visits of two captain-level Chinese officers to Pachmarhi, and one colonel-level officer to National Defence College.

India was also cold to China's fence-mending bid by offering to send a colonel-level official to New Delhi for talks with joint secretary (international cooperation) in the defence ministry. With passions running high, there was no certainty that the government would allow the visit scheduled for September 7.

Chinese ambassador Zhang Yan met joint secretary (east Asia) Gautam Bambawale in the foreign office to discuss the issue against the backdrop of outrage in India over the the provocation and Beijing's anxiety to de-escalate tensions. The message India gave was that China was solely responsible for the current fracas and that the onus of untying the knot rested with it, said sources.

With the Congress and the BJP joining hands to lambast China over the refusal of visa to Lt General B S Jaswal, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Northern Area Command, government made it clear that it was not going to let go of Beijing's latest effort to meddle in J&K. "The defence minister has taken a strong view. Talks on the issue will go on," minister of state for external affairs Preneet Kaur said.

Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari reacted to the report in TOI by saying that the Chinse envoy should be summoned by the government and be told of the resentment its action has generated.

CPM, known for its sympathetic views on China, refused to react, arguing that there was no official word on the issue yet.

The BJP, however, came out strongly against China. Party spokesperson Prakash Javdekar said, "We must strongly condemn the Chinese on the issue. It is the worst kind of insult inflicted upon India by denying visa to Jaswal. It should be made clear to China that Kashmir is an integral part of India and not a disputed territory."

Party leader and former foreign minister Yashwant Sinha said, " Government of India should retaliate in kind. A very strong message should go to China that India will not take such pinpricks lying down."

The anger was in accord with the mood in the government which seems to be determined to engage in some bluntspeak with China. Until then, military exchanges will be on hold, sources said.

In a statement on Friday, the MEA spokesperson said, "While we value our exchanges with China, there must be sensitivity to each other's concerns. Our dialogue with China on these issues is ongoing." This is diplomatese for India's determination to refuse to negotiate on this issue.

However, the government was clear that this issue would not spill over to other sectors. For instance, border personnel meetings would not be cancelled or put on hold.

India has a modest defence relationship with China but with an intention to improve it so as to gain a greater understanding of each other's defence systems. However, on Kashmir, the PLA takes a stand that is designed to infuriate India and placate Pakistan's equally powerful military.

The Chinese approach to the Indian part of J&K is markedly different from its activities in Pakistan 0ccupied Kashmir where it is engaged in construction work. This has already been protested by India, with little effect on Chinese behaviour.

is that what the oracles and astrologists told you today

Unless you're suggesting that the Maoists are mere monks.....

ive even read comments by hindustanys on this forum, proclaiming that they arent terrorists they are fighting for social rights and equality

ive heard other hindustanys saying that they are fighting for the rights of oppressed Christians in hindustan.....i wonder which one it is

by that standard....Im sure you think the Talibs burning your country are Imams too....LOL!!!

depends which faction you are talking about; some of them are just die-hard maulvis who arent ''burning our country'' while some of them have a purely anti-Pakistan or U.S./West agenda

im sure there are some talibs here and there who have been Imams at some point in their lives, who knows?

case by case basis thing...

He lead a revolt(read , armed by CIA and india) in 59' can we compare him to Maoist now?

The whole world will not stop india if it needs to rethink about tibet policy for national intrusts. China must respect indian intrusts or else same can be expected in return. We already paid for trusting china blindly and foolishly(by Nehru) we cannot do the same again.

And a lot is remaining to be paid back for that stupid fool Nehru..

Like I have said befor, India does not have the policy to Interfere in other countries on Internal matter. If push comes to shove all that has to be done is that the Indian Government has to change its policy viz-z-viz China and it will be taken care of.

China being much Advanced in yada-yada does not hold ground.

Good luck to your govts monkey tricks

Hmm or more like indians do not have an iq to comprehend policitcs. You forget 1948 kashmir, 1971 east pakistan, 2010 bangladesh with AL, BLA, Afghanistan and host others

Right....because getting Visas to China is a top prioirity for us.....

You should learn from your own gems of wisdom and quickly remove Pakistani occupational forces from Indian territories.....then maybe the much needed help for floods and relief can flow from your own neighborhood instead of your country becoming a puppet for the western world in return of aid......

Though Im not sure how high up our priorities are wrt to obtaining Chinese visas....

There are no Pakistani occupational forces. We dont need a 24/7 watch to keep kashmiris in the line contanary to IOK where 700K indian armed forces are kept engaged. The Pakistani army only moves in when the indian put up some border acrobatic show. :chilli:

So lady, according to you, there's no difference between a NOBEL PEACE PRIZE laureate and maoists? WoW...quite a journalist you must be! :toast_sign:

Yasser Arafat, Sharon and even Obama got a nobel price. It means nothing and does not change their world preception. Appraise aka Maska lagana is an indian habbit not much touted in rest of the world.

why do these guys call us hindustanys? is it envy? fear? what is it?
:what:
Arent you hindustanis?? conflict with your pride or identity crisis??

He lead a revolt(read , armed by CIA and india) in 59' can we compare him to Maoist now?

What you mean is that the people of Tibet got sick of being treated like second class citizens in their own land......having their lands distributed into the privy purse of the CPC and having constant threats of violence against them by the PLA to abide to Chinese hegemony......

Please do read about the actual situations that lead to the revolt of 59 instead of naming DL as the instigator just to prove a point.....

Secondly, leave India out of this....India only provided shelter to refugees of an invasion....

is that what the oracles and astrologists told you today

Im assuming you wouldnt be able to tell that the Dalai Lama is nothing more than a peaceful Monk even if it hit you in the head.....

Forget abut the crystal balls.....

Actions speak louder than words....

You can debate all you want about the Maoists call to arms.....

But this much I can guarantee that they are no peaceful Monks....

Pakistani occupational forces currently occupy Northern Areas, Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir......

You need to get out from under that rock.....

The so-called refugees are serf owners, land reform in Tibet, serf owners of all land deprivation, which is why the serf owners will launch a rebellion, the Tibetan people really get their own land, first time in history. Do not attempt to confuse. Serf owners,is not all the people of Tibet, only a small part.
